Our review of the iconic Parisian establishment
Four Seasons Hotel George V Is a Gilded Gourmand’s Dream
What could be more fitting for a sojourn around the City of Lights than living it up like royalty? At Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, splendor is on display in every corner (think: marble floors, a golden lobby, fabric-covered walls, chandeliers, and Louis XVI furnishings). Located in the 8th arrondissement, this grande dame is conveniently situated in the city’s golden triangle, known for its luxury shopping. But even if Louis Vuitton isn't at the top of your travel itinerary, we bet that indulging in French cuisine certainly is—and George V just so happens to be the only hotel in Europe featuring five Michelin stars for its three standout restaurants.

Who should you bring?
With multiple suite options and kid-friendly details (like cribs provided on request and a Le Petit George mascot), you could certainly bring the family here. And with elegant meeting rooms and free high-speed Wi-Fi, it would be a delightful business trip. But we have something else in mind—namely a couples city break or a girls weekend away. The Art Deco landmark with its lavish decor is practically begging you to relax and feel pampered, which is so much more fun with your one-and-only or your bestie, n’est pas? Spend the day exploring the city, popping into charming shops and beautiful museums, before coming back to your sophisticated digs to unwind before enjoying quite possibly the best damn meal of your life. (More on that below…)
What’s the food like?
You’re in Paris so naturally you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to food. And at Four Seasons George V, you’ve got options. Boasting three Michelin stars is Le Cinq, featuring French fine dining and beautiful presentation (the fish and seafood dishes are particularly superb). Then there’s the more modern Le George with its Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and L’Orangerie with its contemporary Gallic menu; both restaurants have one Michelin star. We’re still dreaming about the Blue Lobster Salad and Veal Chop Milanese from Le George, but quite frankly you’re guaranteed an unforgettable meal no matter which restaurant you choose. Oh, and did we mention the wine cellar with over 50,000 bottles? Just be sure to book a table at any of the eateries in advance—these establishments are popular with local Parisians as well as hotel guests. Bon appétit.
Did you get a good night’s sleep?
Thanks to Guerlain toiletries, marble bathrooms, fluffy robes and sumptuous bedrooms (many offering views overlooking the Eiffel Tower), after a day of pounding the cobblestones and a night of rich cuisine, we slept like a petit bébé.
What amenities are available?
We got our steps in by walking around the city all day long but for those who are more workout-inclined, there is a 24-hour fitness center available featuring exercise bikes, weight machines, free weights and more. There is also a spa offering massages, facials and hair styling, as well as hammams (available for private use if you so wish) and a vitality pool, in addition to the larger spa pool.
What was your favorite part?
We could go on and on about the food but to be honest, writing about it won’t do it justice. Beyond the fine dining, the dramatic floral arrangements in the lobby took our breath away and left a wonderful scent throughout the first level. It’s hard not to start the day on a fabulous note when greeted with such a stunning display.
Know before you go:
European electrical adapters are needed but don’t worry if you forgot to pack yours—the hotel can loan them to you.

Just down the street is La Cour Jardin at Hotel Plaza Athenee where you can tantalize the taste buds with creamy gazpacho, fresh tuna tartare and warm morello cherries with pistachio ice cream in a beautiful garden setting (if you’re getting Emily in Paris vibes while enjoying your lunch, it’s because the hotel has been featured in the show). Other excellent spots nearby include the Akira Back Paris with its Japanese-Korean-American fusion cuisine and Le Maxan Restaurant for modern French dishes in an elegant and serene setting.
