Who should you bring?
Viceroy Snowmass is perfect for couples looking for a stylish ski retreat, families wanting adventure and comfort or friends seeking slope access with sophisticated accommodations. The location offers ski-in/ski-out convenience on Snowmass Mountain, with Aspen just a short drive away for fine dining and après-ski. The property blends modern elegance with a welcoming mountain lodge feel, making it comfortable for adults and kids alike. It is the crown jewel of Snowmass.
What’s the food like?
Toro, the hotel’s signature restaurant, serves globally inspired dishes. That said, it was not our favorite restaurant on property—we actually enjoyed the lobby menu and Lift Line Tavern more. Pro Tip: The Southwest Salad in the lobby and the Quinoa Grain Bowl with chicken or salmon at Lift Line are great. At Toro, we enjoyed the Housemade Bread Focaccia and the Toro California Roll. The Birria Bao Buns and the Lomo Saltado were solid choices as well. As a sidenote, when skiing on the mountain, The Cabin is a must-visit for lunch—elevated but approachable fare with fun, energetic music outside the cabin if you want a break. Our favorites were the knishes with smoked salmon, the seafood tower and the Wagyu Burger.
Did you get a good night’s sleep?
Absolutely. Both Pinnacle and Cirque beds are extremely comfortable. Beds are plush with crisp linens, and blackout curtains ensure restful sleep. Cirque rooms feel cozy and clean after a long day of skiing, while Pinnacle rooms provide nice space and sweeping mountain views. The quiet location guarantees uninterrupted rest.
What amenities are available?
The Viceroy spa is serene and modern, offering massages, facials and other rejuvenating treatments. There’s even a nice selection of Lululemon clothing (which was much needed after delayed luggage for 3 days!). The heated outdoor pool with mountain views and the well-equipped fitness center make it easy to unwind after skiing. We highly recommend going into the hot tub during winter months! Rooms include fireplaces, plush robes and luxury bath products. Concierge services can arrange ski rentals, spa treatments and dining reservations.
How was the service?
Staff at Viceroy Snowmass are attentive, professional and genuinely warm. From check-in to spa and dining, every interaction is seamless. The concierge team excels at arranging ski lessons, dining reservations and local recommendations.
What was your favorite part?
The combination of slope-side convenience, stylish accommodations and mountain adventure. Mornings started with coffee on the balcony breathing in cold fresh mountain air, days were spent skiing or tubing and evenings ended with cocktails or dinner in Snowmass or Aspen. The mountain views, thoughtful design and exceptional service make it a complete ski getaway.
Know before you go:
Avoid Aspen Airport at all costs. Flights get delayed or canceled considerably more than any other airport. Fly through Eagle Vail, Grand Junction or even Denver and drive 3.5 hours. Book ski lessons early (especially with Katie Ertl for adults!) or the Kids Ski School. Reserve The Cabin in advance since it fills up fast. If you can swing it, the Cirque rooms are the way to go, but Pinnacle is very nice too.

Relaxation and adventure, right this way
Snowmass and Aspen offer plenty to do beyond the hotel. We were incredibly lucky to have Katie Ertl from Aspen Ski Company as our instructor for private lessons. She is a legend and an icon in Aspen Snowmass. She made learning fun and engaging, and her expertise and encouragement helped us pick it up quickly. Lessons run daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Kids Ski School is fantastic, providing a safe and exciting environment for children. The kids learned quickly and loved all the friends they met. The instructors are very good with kids, and it runs from 9 to 3 as well, aligning perfectly with adult lessons. For shopping, be sure to check out Aspen One at Four Mountain Sports, a very chic clothing line available throughout Snowmass and Aspen that’s perfect for the mountains. The hoodies and hats are top notch.
