The Essence of Expertise

Despite its association in popular culture with excess, luxury is truly rooted in simplicity; luxury is perfection in expertise, distilled down to its finest elements. No brand exemplifies this better than Glashütte Original. Simultaneously timeless yet modern, the spirit of the brand is not in profusion; it is in restraint. Much like Glashütte Original, fine artist Loren Fizer also works closely with restraint in his own daily life, placing a premium on clothing and accessories crafted with expertise in every stitch and detail. Consider Loren an equal counterpart to Glashütte Original: refined and capable. Aspirational and attainable. Timeless and modern. The Essence of Expertise.

“The seersucker on that suit is something that I really enjoy. It is a very specific detail that makes it feel elegant, but at the same time able to be lived in and worked in.”

“Everything together feels like it tells that story of the elite craftsmanship of professionalism, and also a little bit of fun.”

Loren’s Take: “I hope to continue to put a lot of wear into this jacket.”
Nostalgic Design
The retro styling of the case brings together unique geometric accents and shapes, modernizing nostalgic design details.
Totally Fab
The matt lacquered “fab green” dial features a dégradé effect, hour markers with luminous dots and a white Panorama Date on black background.
Business Casual
with Green Dial
The art of styling a timeless business casual look is found in the details: from the blousy cuff of his jacket, to the shape, fall and ribbing of his vintage baseball style sweatshirt, to the homage to classic Japanese design of his 1950s large chinos, everything in Loren’s vintage look feels considered and fresh, while honoring the elite craftsmanship of the past.
When it comes to timepieces, or apparel, luxury is often found in the smallest of details. While the overall essence of this seersucker suit is elegant, fun is injected into this ensemble through the playful use of interesting textures and their interplay with muted colors, which preserve the formal nature.
Vintage
with Blue Dial
In the case of vintage, no piece would be complete without a little patina. Loren’s vintage French tour coat seen here, is a prime example of that interplay. The jacket is at once fresh and nostalgic, and each piece of his ensemble is well worn, intentional and loved. As with a timepiece handed down through generations, each hard-earned imperfection on this jacket holds within it a timeless story.

Finding Harmony
Resilience and Precision
The watchmaking industry in Glashütte has always supported young apprentices by encouraging participation in sports and continuing education.
In the 1930s, every apprentice at UROFA was required to learn a musical instrument. A full watchmaker orchestra was formed and even performed concerts for the town.
After World War II, the entire Glashütte watch industry was stripped bare by the Soviet occupying forces. Rather than give up, the watchmakers rebuilt critical machines entirely from memory, even using leftover moulds and repurposed tools.
