1. Are you traveling to a region with travel advisories from the State Department? (Check your destination)
Reason: Travel when you’re pregnant can be fraught with complications and our travel protection plans generally exclude claims related to any kind of normal pregnancy or childbirth. By adding CFAR coverage to our Premium Plan, as long as you are not disabled from travel at the time you buy the plan and meet other requirements, you may be reimbursed for a majority of your cancellation penalties if you decide to cancel your trip.
Reason: The State Department often adds and removes Travel Advisory notices to certain destinations – but sometimes the reasons for the advisories don’t fall under covered reasons for cancellation for travel protection. In these cases, CFAR coverage may help you get back a good portion of your trip cost. Note that no plans are eligible to be purchased when the destination is under a “Do Not Travel” advisory.
Reason: Involuntary job loss is a covered reason for Trip Cancellation, but you have to be on the job for one year or more for the coverage to be effective. Also, if you’re an independent contractor, a temporary employee, or are self-employed, coverage for job loss is excluded. With CFAR you can cancel for any reason, so cancellation penalties are eligible to be reimbursed up to plan limits.

2. Do you have a pre-existing medical condition and don’t qualify for travel protection coverage for that condition?
Take our quiz to see if your medical condition is considered pre-existing and if you can get coverage with our Premium Plan. If it is pre-existing, and you can’t qualify for coverage, then CFAR is a good option in case the condition flares up and causes you to cancel your trip.
Reason: If your medical condition is considered pre-existing and you’re not eligible for coverage, cancellations caused by that condition may not be covered. CFAR gives you added flexibility—if your condition worsens and you decide not to travel, you may be reimbursed for a significant portion of your trip cost. We also suggest you consult with your doctor before you plan to travel with a pre-existing condition.
