Flavor exploration explodes
Experimenting with unique, global, and bold flavors continues to increase across multiple categories, and dairy is no different. In fact, 20% of dairy or dairy alternative consumers state that they go out of their way to try new flavors, with 51% stating they sometimes do³. This openness to trying new things has accelerated growth in new product launches in the cheese category with unique flavor profiles like alcohol, spicy chile, and buffalo³.
The need for natural looms
Cheese consumption is up! Nearly a quarter of US consumers (23%) cleaim to be eating cheese more often than in 2020¹ thanks to its perceived health benefits, comforting presence, convenience, and its ability to deliver on the clean-label trend. Cooking at home brings comfort
Consumers have turned to cooking at home for comfort and connection. At-home cooking skyrocketed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. While many restrictions have been lifted, allowing consumers to get back out and enjoy their favorite restaurants, many consumers continue to find joy in cooking at home. In fact, 31% of families have eaten dinner at home every day since COVID, compared to only 18% pre-pandemic and 92% of families aim to continue or increase at-home dining².
