Don’t let their name fool you. The Inactive Lifestyle consumer still
exercises. They just focus on exercising their brain more than their body!
Their protein consumption is centered on basic nutritional needs rather
than fuel for their workouts. They want to have energy throughout the day,
feel full when they eat a snack, and feel good about the nutrition they’re
getting in each bite. They prefer salty snacks and don’t really consider
protein sources when they’re choosing their products. They primarily reach
for a protein-fortified snack to kick start their day (think protein cereal
or shake) or manage satiety (think protein bars or bites). The Inactive
Lifestyle consumer does look to protein-fortified foods for a bit of an
energy boost. Still, they’re more likely to grab a bar or snack to provide
a little midday reward or break, so those sweet treats that have a little
extra protein to help curb the guilt are welcome options. This group skews
heavily female with a 60% female to 40% male ratio.
