HOLE 5 I 450 YDS - PAR 4
450 YDS - PAR 4
Aggressive drives over the oak must also avoid a new bunker 115 yards short of the green on the left where a high lip may prevent players from reaching the green in regulation.
The hole now bends left around a towering specimen oak and drives must be hit over or around it to a fairway the runs away from the tee shot into the right rough if not accurately controlled.
The green, pushed back and to the left, is similar in concept though with more hole locations and the ability to tuck pins on the right edge and back left wing behind two small knobs on the putting surface. Members, meanwhile, will have an easier time running shots onto the more open front of the green.
PRE-RESTORATION
The old fourth was a straight, downhill “breather” hole for good players, but a shift of the tees 60 yards to the left now demands a more tactical approach.
