Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre acquired by Catalent
Pennine MSK Partnership acquired by Vita Health Group
Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre Limited (VMIC), a company limited by guarantee, was developing a facility located on the highly prestigious Harwell Science and Innovation campus near Oxford. The board of VMIC and the UK government decided to divest of the part-built facility as it was no longer deemed strategic and they wanted to secure future employment for the current workforce as well as a long-term partnership with an appropriate buyer from a suitable geography. Catalent, a large US CDMO, acquiring VMIC reinforces the UK’s future vaccine manufacturing resilience and has generated a huge employment opportunity in the UK.
