Healthcare M&A activity Q4 2021

As we approached the end of a challenging year in the healthcare sector, there was a final flourish of activity with deal volumes up 42% on the previous quarter making Q4 the busiest of the year. This sprint to the end of year finish line also ensured that 2021 was an active year for private equity (PE) with Q4 bringing in 28 (up 133% on Q3) PE healthcare deals, which has resulted in 2021 recording the highest volume of PE deal activity since we started monitoring M&A in 2017.
