We continue to work closely with our partners to grow our teams in the GCCs while prioritising our personal development by hosting our second Skills Development Week. Veeva QMS and OneCDS went live and are starting to make an impact (they are not just acronyms…)
Transforming ourselves
We achieved a landmark milestone of 100% ERP coverage, hosted our first DataCon and delivered our first phase of PIE using Code Orange. ServiceNow continues to be rolled out across GSF and our R&D Clinical Control Tower went live.
Transforming others
Our innovative and future-back thinking shown through our Demo Days and Masterclasses, hosted by Beyond, starts to take centre stage as we enable Q-Block at Barnard Castle to maximise yield and reduce waste. We also use Digital Twin for the first time to support respiratory supply chain and predict the size of liposomes.
Every one of us has a responsibility to help keep GSK secure and Trust is our key priority. Our Tech team have run phishing simulations, updated our software and protected us from the ever evolving and ongoing daily cyber-attacks.
We’ve progressed our Cosmos integration in EMEA, Brazil and our manufacturing sites, and we’re accelerating our focus on separation. We have around 1,200 apps, 1,100 business processes and over 4,000 interfaces in scope to separate. The big focus for Q3 for Process & System Separation is UAT readiness and cutover planning.

Reclaim Your Voice
The CH Tech and GB Expert Marketing team have partnered with an external agency to develop the first speech therapy app for denture wearers – Reclaim Your Voice. The mobile app is powered by AI voice diagnostics and helps the denture wearers retrain their mouth with a series of simple, daily speech exercises. They receive personalised feedback and can track their ongoing progress. Learn more Contact: Adam Hurst
The Energy Consumption Visualisation allows Energy Managers on sites to reduce CO2 emissions. We need data to do this effectively. Currently, the energy meters at our sites are read manually and the process to get the data to the Corporate Network is a long and arduous process. In order to create usable data, we have been experimenting with Remote Telemetry to create a direct data feed available to the Azure Cloud, which will send energy meter readings directly to SFTP using cellular network more quickly. We designed a new website for HCPs and localised it for different markets. This improved user experience has seen a significant increase in engagement, with HCPs spending more time browsing the site which has improved SEO. To enable us to replicate success, we created many reusable web components which can be scaled easily and re-used for other websites. We also removed custom code so we now have a modern, global, reusable design. Contact: Marek Wagner
Launch of ViiV Exchange V.2
GSK successfully set up a foundation of transformative new cutting-edge technologies such as AI/ML to enhance the patient experience and support the salesforce. Landmark milestone of 100% ERP coverage coming up and end of ERP programmes
After deploying ERP to 169 global markets across CH, ViiV and Rx along with 46 manufacturing sites, and integrating 50 Pfizer CH markets (including three sites), we now have only Egypt CERPs and one Pfizer CH site to complete by September 2021. This means we are incredibly close to finishing a landmark milestone and journey for GSK, which will result in 100% of total global revenue running through the platform with ~ 93k CERPS and ~18k MERP users. Standardisation and simplification of one instance has been a game-changer for the joint venture integrations and is a significant enabler for the work we are currently doing to transform and separate our businesses. Cash analytics value strikes, for example, has already improved our cash position by over £200m. Our ongoing continuous improvement efforts will also benefit from having a robust, rigorous and well controlled system as the base platform for the business. There is no doubt having a single instance across GSK contributed as an enabler in response to the pandemic, allowing us to meet our reporting requirements effectively without missing a beat.
