Power Generation & Microgrid
JMTC Substation A
Substation A was designed as a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) package for the replacement of the primary 13.8kV substation at Rock Island Arsenal. The design package included drawings, specifications, design analysis, calculations, cost estimates and construction schedule. The project replaces an existing E-House type switchgear building with a total of 14 breakers and a concrete vault under the building.
The new Switching Station A building will be a conventionally constructed building with Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) walls and roof over a concrete vault. The switchgear has a capacity for 3000 amps at 13.8kV with a total of 27 circuit breakers, tie-breaker and spare cabinets for future growth. The building is sized to allow for all switchgear to be accessible from the interior of the building. The switchgear will feature a redundant, A and B side, with a fully rated tied breaker. The switchgear is designed to operate the entire Arsenal from a single transformer.
The project also includes a phased approach for splicing and extending of underground 13.8kV cables currently connected to the existing switchgear. Cables will be spliced and extended to the new Switching Station A location.

Regional Missouri Utility
Underground Distribution System Upgrade
Our team designed new underground conduit systems to support circuit configuration changes for a regional utility distribution network in a high-density area. Front-end engineering design included permit drawings showing existing conditions, proposed new duck bank route and manhole locations, and new duct bank sections.
Detailed engineering design package included bill of materials, plan and profile drawings for duct bank system, manhole locations, conduit system, existing utilities crossings and structures within the project boundaries, all communication subsurface footprints, ROW lines, switchgear pads and cable route map with notation. Our team also performed the pulling calculation/simulations for all new and existing conduits.
Mission-critical Utility Projects
We understand the people, processes, security and operational standards of utilities because we've already delivered the facilities that run the grid.
