As an independent agency, Spectrum lets talent take free rein. Spectrumites are purposeful leaders and passionate science-loving specialists looking to create healthier communities. That’s why we continue to find ways to support our employees who are enthusiastic about making a difference in their communities and their work through our CSR initiatives and our partnership with GoodToday—an online platform that sends employees a daily email with the ability to allocate a Spectrum-sponsored donation to one of two featured charities.
Culture
The pandemic has shifted how we work, and Spectrum is constantly looking to ensure we support employees’ careers and personal wellbeing. We offer employees the option to choose where they would like to work through our hybrid/remote policy. To support mental health, Spectrum provides employees and their families with free access to resources like the Headspace and Ginger apps. In addition, we’ve found fun ways to connect when we’re apart and provide access to leaders—from Fireside Chats with CEO Jonathan Wilson, Java with Justin Rubin, Spectrum’s Chief Creative Officer, virtual lunch with President Michelle Gross and weekly Zoom happy hours full of games and more.

Spectrum has worked to weave DEI into its DNA. Our mission is to foster, encourage and celebrate unique perspectives—taking steps together to expand the way we think, interact and formulate solutions to connect humankind to its best healthlife. Since establishing our DEI Council and subcommittees, we’ve committed to using diverse vendors, developed campaigns to raise awareness around healthcare issues impacting underrepresented communities, increased staff diversity 33%, initiated protocols for diverse hiring, and developed an internal newsletter (Culture Corner) that regularly highlights diverse talent and resources. We’re most proud of our Pride month campaign where we developed, “Saying Gay in the USA,” a coloring book with LGBTQ facts/resources that doubled as a fundraising effort, raising $5,000+ for the American Library Association’s campaign against book bans; as well as our ongoing initiative Healthspanic, launched during Hispanic Heritage Month by employees whose aim is to improve the lives of the Hispanic community through learning opportunities and engaging activities.
