The Domino and Sametime Global Launch – What an Amazing Event!

The Domino Dozen

We kicked everything off with a powerful testament to the staying power of Domino, how it powers the Fortune 500 (think Vanguard, LG, and Dun & Broadstreet, among others) and how it’s built for the future. Domino v12: Cloud-native. Low code for everyone. Web- and mobile-ready. The world is (still): Powered by Domino.

Launch day was one for the books.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes snapshots from that shoot. We filmed this with a group of improv comedy actors in an abandoned office overnight in downtown Manhattan. It was fun! It definitely demonstrates how Domino has outlasted — and out beat — the competition for more than 30 years. And how Domino has the staying power to truly be #dominoforever.

This was a great presentation around the state of the state with the digital workplace, and what CIOs need to consider and conquer to stay competitive and their organizations future-built. We partnered with Chris Marsh from 451 to add some broad, market-trend views. HCL’s Andrew Manby delivered an introduction to the new Sametime — and how it fits in beautifully — to both remote and global work, and our digital transformation initiatives.

There was a customer dialog about how Biopappel uses Domino to power the apps that run their business, and how they’ve expanded its use within the organization. HCL’s Luis Guirigay and Tiffany Amos walked us through a few really cool demos that show — once again — how flexible and modern Domino can be.

We had hundreds of comments and a VERY active chat during the entire live launch event. Despite a few technical difficulties (a couple of presenters had their wifi go down, and we had a hot mic for a few seconds), we think the content was strong, and the engagement exciting. We had more than 4,000 registrants, and more than 1,000 attendees on concurrently and at different times throughout the day. We’ll be creating articles that address some of the best questions, so that everyone can benefit. Here are a few of our favorites from the live day.
