Acupuncture is a type of traditional Chinese medicine that may help people with cancer with sleep, pain, and depression. Acupuncture may help increase white blood cell levels after chemotherapy. According to a 2018 literature review, acupuncture may also improve fatigue in people with cancer.
Massage can have several benefits for people with MDS, including lower anxiety and helping to cope with the effects and fatigue of MDS. If your platelet levels are low, let your massage therapist know that you may be more prone to bruising.
