Andrea was diagnosed in 2019 with generalized myasthenia gravis. Two years after the onset
of her disease, she turned to clinical trials after failing to get symptom relief from available treatments. Her symptoms stabilized while on
a clinical trial, and she began mentoring newly diagnosed patients.
Although she found some symptom relief, Andrea remained unable to work. Looking for a sense of purpose, she began volunteering by starting an MG support group and chaired the first annual Southern California MG Walk in 2025. In 2026, she is chairing the Southern California Health Fair and the second annual SoCal MG Walk, and she has become a Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America Ambassador.
Andrea is mother to two adult sons, a software engineer and a navy sailor, as well as three feline fur babies. In her free time, she makes donation quilts and enjoys relaxing with friends and family.
