Adi Wines Creates Unique Wine Experience in Sierra Foothills
High in California’s Sierra Foothills, where mountain breezes sweep across nine acres of carefully tended vines, Madhavi and Sudhakar Padala have transformed the former Old Oakstone Vineyards into something uniquely their own. With the launch of Adi Wines, they’ve crafted a winemaking journey that reflects both their heritage and their future, a commitment deeply embedded in the land itself. The name Bhoomanchi Vineyards—Telugu for “Good Earth”—honors this connection, serving as the heart of their winemaking philosophy. Adi Wines Creates Unique Wine Experience in Sierra Foothills
The connection between tech professionals and vintners might seem unexpected, but for the Padalas, those weekend drives through wine country weren’t just escapes from everyday life—they were glimpses of possibility. In 2021, they acquired this elevated plot and founded Adi Wines, embracing a minimal-intervention winemaking philosophy that honors their vineyard’s distinct terroir.
The Adi Wines approach pairs regional tradition with individual expression in three inaugural releases: a structured Cabernet Sauvignon, an ethereal Pinot Gris, and a vibrant Rosé. Each bottle tells its own story through custom-designed labels that weave together art, heritage, and craft. But perhaps most striking is their novel vision for sharing these wines—an exclusive club that will pair vineyard experiences with luxury stays in wine country and Lake Tahoe, creating connections that flow from mountain to lake.

The Padalas’ vision for winemaking stretches beyond traditional bounds. In their vineyards, sustainable farming practices guide each vintage destined for the Adi Wines label. The property’s high-altitude location and unique terroir lend each wine its unique character, while careful stewardship of the mountain soil preserves the essence of this remarkable landscape.
Drawing from global winemaking wisdom while embracing the unique characteristics of the Sierra Foothills, they’ve developed practices that respect both the land and their heritage, yielding wines that are both true to their origin and reflective of the Padalas’ perspective on California winemaking.
