There’s no question that, in this time of challenge, city budgets are stretched very, very thin. At the same time, community leaders want to do what they can to improve the quality of life for their residents. And that’s where Wyoming Community Gas enters the picture.
Since 1996, Wyoming Community Gas has reinvested more than $1,000,000 in the communities it serves with competitive natural gas supply. Customers in the Wyoming Community Gas service area have the opportunity to choose Wyoming Community Gas each year during the Choice Gas Selection Period, which typically takes place in April.
That choice can have a dramatic impact on the quality of life in a communities such as Bar Nunn, Wheatland and dozens more across Wyoming.
Transforming Community Projects From Wish-List to Reality
Building a Sense of Community in Bar Nunn
As Mayor of Wheatland, Wyoming, Brandon Graves understands the pressure on the community budget. He also knows how the funds Wyoming Community Gas reinvests in his community have enabled Wheatland to offer significant amenities that simply would not have been possible otherwise.
“We choose to invest our funds from Wyoming Community Gas on quality-of-life items to improve the sense of community feeling in Bar Nunn,” said Bar Nunn mayor Patrick Ford. “In our case, that tends to manifest itself as improvements to our parks—facilities that everyone can use and enjoy.”

Ford says that, when people choose Wyoming Community Gas as their natural gas supplier, they are also making the choice to make life in Bar Nunn even better.
“People can see what we have done in the past with those funds; that there's something tangible that is improving their lives,” Ford added. “There are many things they enjoy in the town of Bar Nunn that are a direct result of them choosing Wyoming Community Gas.”
“There are a number of things we knew we needed, but the budget didn’t have room for it,” Graves said. “Then we get that nice bonus from Wyoming Community Gas and suddenly a wished-for project becomes a reality.”
The list of projects that made that transformation include regulation soccer goals in the city park, a fenced-in dog park and a top-notch miniature golf course. “We look for ways to use these funds that will impact the most citizens and impact the community in the most optimal way,” Graves said. “Every dollar counts toward the betterment of the community facets that we have to offer here in Wheatland. Absolutely, Wyoming Community Gas and their reinvestment back into our community is very important.”
That investment matters when it comes time for Wheatland residents and businesses to choose a natural gas supplier, Graves said. “It’s a pretty strong selling point when you can actually see the results of that investment right here in Wheatland,” he added.
