From the winning shouts of “Bingo!” to the melodic sounds of slot machines and live entertainment, Cache Creek Casino Resort has evolved from a modest bingo hall under a tent in Brooks, California, to a full-fledged resort destination on 118 acres nestled within the scenic Capay Valley.
As the Casino celebrates 40 years of excellence, the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Tribal Citizens who started it all and the employees who work there not only reflect on a vision brought to life but also look to the future. Their goal – to remain the biggest and most sought-after entertainment location in Northern California.

Rooted in heritage, the resort has brought vibrant new energy to the area, transforming what was once quiet farmland into a hub of entertainment, hospitality, and culture. The Tribe’s deep connection to its ancestral lands in the Capay Valley has grown and continues to flourish by supporting the community like roots uphold a tree.
The Tribe not only owns and operates Cache Creek Casino Resort, a major employer and economic driver in the region, employing more than 2,200 people, but it also owns Seka Hills, a brand known for its line of agricultural products produced on tribally owned land.
As one of the region’s leaders in environmental preservation and organic agriculture, the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation’s commitment to sustainability and stewardship has strengthened its self-reliance and reinvests in the community it serves. Additionally, their philanthropic efforts have donated over $100 million to local causes.
Cache Creek Casino Resort is more than a business. It is an enterprise within a sovereign Native American nation whose commitment to building a legacy exceeded every expectation. Each development phase has been shaped by the Tribe’s deep cultural roots and forward-thinking leadership.
Beyond the casino floor, Cache Creek offers experiences that rival top-tier resorts. The award-winning Yocha Dehe Golf Club, known for its pristine 18-hole championship-caliber course spanning 7,300 yards of panoramic views, expansive driving ranges, and meticulously maintained putting greens, beckons beginner and experienced players looking to elevate their golf game.
From high-tech GPS-equipped golf carts to private lessons and white glove service on the greens, no detail is overlooked. Golfers and guests enjoy exceptional amenities, including a pro shop, a 1,400 square-foot restaurant offering delicious dining and beverage options, as well as full use of the practice facility year-round.
While some people feel at peace surrounded by nature, others seek their Zen and find their center in a world-class, full-service spa. The Spa at Cache Creek Casino Resort offers salon and skin care services as well as massage therapies. Guests can freshen up or wind down in a serene and tranquil environment when they wish to escape the bright lights and sounds from the casino floor.
Séka’, meaning ‘blue,’ honors the blue hills that overlook the Tribe’s homeland in Northern California’s Capay Valley. It is here where they tended the natural resources and land that is home to their culture, history, and traditions. With over 25,000 acres in production, Yocha Dehe owns one of the most diverse farming operations in Yolo County and is one of the few tribes with expanding agriculture in California.
Looking Ahead
As Cache Creek celebrates four decades, its story is far from over. The resort continues to evolve, with new enhancements and experiences always on the horizon. What remains unchanged is the heart behind it all — the dedication of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation to hospitality, heritage, and community.

On June 25, 1985, the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation (formerly the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians) opened a modest bingo hall on their land in Brooks, California. Its initial name was Cache Creek Indian Bingo, marking the tribe’s entry into the gaming industry.
History of Cache Creek Resort
1985
The once modest bingo hall expanded to include card games and video lottery machines. Colorful tables lined with chips and card decks beckoned those looking for a win and to be seated among people who enjoy and respect the game at hand. The name was changed to Cache Creek Indian Bingo & Casino.
1993
Cache Creek undergoes an expansion. It was completed in phases during 1998 and 1999, enhancing its capacity and amenities to meet the needs of the community and visitors looking for a scenic escape, an elite gaming destination, and three new dining options, ranging from grab-and-go to gourmet cuisine. This pivotal moment in the Casino’s timeline set the stage for becoming a full-scale resort over the next decade.
1996
1999
With new slot machines added to the casino as well as more table games, Cache Creek Casino positioned itself as a mecca for high-stakes gaming and quickly became the most popular gaming facility in Northern California. California Gov. Gray Davis signed the Tribal-State Gaming Compact with 58 tribes, including the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians.
In 2002, the tribe announced a $200 million property, renamed Cache Creek Casino Resort, on the same land as the existing facility. Completed and opened in 2004, the resort featured 200 hotel rooms, eight new restaurants, Club 88, a 20,000 square-foot multi-purpose event center, and 74,720 square feet of casino floor space. The resort also added a lavish health spa, outdoor resort-style pool, 2,700 slot machines, 120 table games, including a 14-table poker room, and a mini-mart. In 2008, the 18-hole championship golf course, Yocha Dehe Golf Club, opened.
2002–2008
2017
In May 2017, another expansion was announced, totaling nearly $200 million, with an official groundbreaking shortly thereafter. A nine-story south tower was added (and officially opened to guests in October 2021), featuring 459 more hotel rooms, taking the overall resort total to 659 rooms. Additional features of the latest expansion included a 1,300-seat event center space, a 360-seat junior ballroom, world-class restaurants, more meeting spaces, a larger spa, and a second resort-style pool. The expansion bolstered Cache Creek’s capacity to host larger events and provided upscale accommodations.
The ultra-contemporary Elevate Lounge, along with an expanded gaming area and large entertainment stage, made its debut at Cache Creek Casino Resort. Created in the former Club 88 showroom, it boasts bar-top gaming, LED displays, and a large center bar featuring entertainers across all musical genres.

In June, Cache Creek Casino celebrates 40 years of growth and entertainment for millions of visitors since its inception. This milestone honors decades of excellence, vision, and unforgettable experiences for guests. In addition to being regarded as the premier place for entertainment and luxurious accommodations, it is also recognized for receiving its certification as a Great Place To Work®. We invite you to Cache Creek Casino Resort—a destination that will awaken all your senses.
As the first full-scale casino in Northern California, Cache Creek has long held a position of distinction. Today, it stands as the biggest resort of its kind in the region — a sprawling destination with gaming, fine dining, luxury accommodation, and world-class amenities.
If you want to talk numbers – and not in monetary terms – consider its footprint and all that it offers to guests nearby. Boasting a 415,000-square-foot facility including a 94,000-square-foot casino floor with more than 2300 slot machines and 120 table games, the resort also features 659 four-diamond luxury hotel rooms, including a full-service spa, an 18-hole championship golf course, 11 restaurants, two outdoor swimming pools, and a large state-of-the-art event center. It is a sensory hot spot that invites individuals to play and stay for a much-needed vacation, celebration, or exploration like no other.
It’s hard to believe it has been 40 years, an amazing journey from a humble bingo hall to a world-class casino and resort. It was a vision from those before us, our former leaders, who had this idea that gaming was a way to bring economic viability to the Tribe.
