WINTECH | MAY 2021
We often associate rowing with straw hats and festive tents hosting crew alumni at the regatta. WINTECH Racing, the world’s leading rowing shell manufacturer, looks at rowing differently. As well as supplying boats to World & Olympic Champions the team at WINTECH Racing understand that the health of recreational and competitive rowing depends on “growing the game” outside its familiar borders. They see a huge opportunity to grow the sport by introducing it to underserved communities, potentially changing countless lives.
Sporting a rowing blazer at a regatta such as the infamous Henley Royal in the UK is the equivalent of donning a fanciful hat for the Kentucky Derby, an opportunity to display one’s bold stripes for all to see. Owning a limited edition WinTech Racing Rowing Blazers shell takes this to the next level.
In addition to this project on helping make rowing a more diverse and inclusive sport WINTECH Racing is also an industry leader in environmental stewardship. In 2018, the company completed a major renovation of its 500,000-sq foot manufacturing facility. The multi-million dollar upgrade eliminated atmospheric pollution, installed 19,000-sq meters of solar panels producing a net-zero carbon output, and now uses 100% recycled water within a closed system. This led to WinTech Racing become a finalist for the World Rowing 2019 Sustainability Award and the only boat manufacturer to be nominated.
If you value the role rowing has played in your life, visit the WINTECH Racing website to learn how you can help create a more diverse and inclusive rowing community.
I’m so thrilled to see Rowing Blazers and WinTech coming together to create this innovative give back program and I look forward to young people using the boats in programs around the country. Everyone will benefit from this creativity and generosity!”

To invigorate this growth, WINTECH Racing has partnered with fashion brand and design lab Rowing Blazers to create a limited edition single racing shell. For every boat sold, WinTech Racing will donate one of their Explorer learn-to-row singles to clubs and organizations around the world whose membership programs prioritize inclusion and diversity to help not only grow the rowing community, but to also help make rowing a more diverse and inclusive sport.
Designed by renowned German Hull Designer Klaus Filter, the limited edition racing shell features WinTech’s industry leading full high-modulus unidirectional carbon construction and rigger, Rowing Blazers’ signature stripe hand-painted on the decks, and a custom interior. It also comes with sculling blades, a custom padded boat cover, and Rowing Blazers Rugby Shirt. Only 250 of these boats will be available worldwide, which could yield up to $1.4 million worth of donated learn-to-row boats.
As we see across the sports spectrum, underserved athletes who are given the opportunity to utilize the best equipment and coaching not only excel, but they also invigorate their sport and provide inspiration for future athletes in their communities.
