Kicking off the Cape’s festival season on September 14-15 is the Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival, which celebrates the local cranberry harvest with a variety of activities, including live music performances, food trucks and arts & crafts vendors. Harwich Cranberry Arts Music Festival

On Sunday October 6, immerse yourself in American Roots Music at the Vinegrass Music Festival. This spirited festival celebrates the best of bluegrass and folk on the lush grounds of Truro Vineyards. Sip on wines, enjoy handcrafted eats from food trucks, and take in a lineup of some of the genre’s greatest artists.

The incredible bounty of late summer and autumn produce makes for colorful times at the area’s many farmers’ markets. From Chatham to Sandwich, Provincetown to Wellfleet and more, shoppers can peruse local produce, meats, baked goods and hand-crafted items from Cape farmers and artisans. For a more immersive experience, visit a Cape Cod farm that sells its wares right on the property. Cape Abilities and Coonamessett Farm are two such farms, offering guests the chance to see the farming process up close while enjoying homegrown goods and produce at its absolute freshest. The 3-day festival culminates with a spectacular fireworks show that lights up the sky over Yarmouth’s beaches.
