in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Visit Trump Winery
Nestled in Central Virginia’s wine country, dozens of craftspeople continue a tradition started in Jamestown in the 1600s — winemaking. The eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains have the fertile, clay soil and long growing season that yields grapes for sublime sparkling, whites, and reds.
Tucked away in the foothills, roughly equal distance from downtown Charlottesville and Lake Monticello, you’ll find largest vinifera vineyard in Virginia. Trump Winery, a sprawling destination that features a tasting room, vineyards, and luxurious estate, has quickly become one of the most popular spots in Virginia Wine Country.
Surrounded by 1,300 acres of green countryside, 227 acres under vine, and stunning mountain views, not to mention luxurious interiors, Trump Winery is a place you’ll want to sit and stay awhile. Plan a picnic lunch with a bottle of Chardonnay Reserve. Watch the sun set with a glass of 2016 Blanc de Blanc. Or make it your final stop during a tour along the Monticello Wine Trail. No matter how you choose to enjoy Trump Winery’s world-class vintages, you’ll always remember the experience.
Where to taste these award-winning wines? Step inside Trump Winery’s cozy tasting room. Settle into a deep leather chair among the rich wood interior; or, take in the vineyard views while lounging on the veranda. Sample your choice of wine by the glass or purchase a bottle to savor with a select menu of gourmet, seasonal cuisine.
Can’t tear yourself away? Book a weekend at Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery, one of the most prestigious and architecturally significant residences in U.S. history. Experience all the Trump Winery estate has to offer while staying in world-class accommodations with unparalleled service.
A mix of modern amenities and historic charm, Albemarle Estate resembles a Georgian-style home of centuries ago. In each of the 10 guest suites, you’ll notice 20-foot hand-carved plaster ceilings, antique English rococo mantels, hand-painted wallpaper, and crystal chandeliers, while enjoying modern features like in-room WiFi and an LCD HDTV.
All Trump Winery venues—which includes a chapel, an opulent grand hall with ballrooms, a converted barn, the hotel, and the grounds itself—are available for weddings and other truly special events. Whether you’re dreaming of a grand wedding or an intimate gathering, you’ll find a rich setting here.
Planted in 1999, the Trump Winery vineyards contain over 200 acres of French vinifera varieties with a heavy emphasis on Chardonnay. Those rolling vineyards produce quality whites and reds that have garnered numerous national and international gold medals, best-in-class designations, and 90+ point ratings from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, James Suckling, and Steven Spurrier.
Produced in the true tradition of Champagne, Trump Winery’s winemakers create their celebrated
A Tasting and Special Occasion Destination
sparkling wines—which comprise about 45 percent of the winery’s total production—in the true tradition of Champagne using Méthode Champenoise, spending a minimum of 3 years on the lees.
Launched in 2011, the winery features over 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, 100,000-gallon tank capacity, and a 750-barrel cave. That capacity allows Trump Vineyards to produce 36,000 cases annually while keeping business local. All wines are grown, produced, and bottled on site in Charlottesville.

A few hundred years ago, when Thomas Jefferson experimented with grapes at Monticello, he couldn’t have imagined the area he called home would later become one of the premier wine destinations on the East Coast. Experience the wineries he inspired with a trip to Central Virginia’s wine country and Trump Winery.
