Five healthy ways parents can catch up with their kids
In fact, a recent study showed that nearly half of moms say they're not able to keep up with their own health routine because they prioritize that of their kids.
It can be hard enough to get everyone around the dinner table at the same time. But maybe that’s because the kids aren’t invested in what’s on the plate? Put your heads together on a recipe. Take a family trip to the local farmers market to pick fresh ingredients. Then work side-by-side in the kitchen to put a healthy, home-cooked meal on the menu—while getting to better know their tastes.

Power down
It’s a tried-and-true method for getting young kids to (finally) go to sleep. But when they’re older, reading a book together can be a way to awaken both your minds to new worlds and interests. You can read to them, have them read to you, or, if they’ve outgrown formal story time, try a mini book club where you both read the same book on your own time and then sit down to discuss it. Even make choosing a book its own fun outing by taking a trip to the local bookstore or public library.
4.
Expand your mind with story time
Beginning in 1991, hepatitis B vaccination became standard of care for infants, making it the first shot babies received before leaving the hospital. Now the CDC recommends all adults aged 19-59* get caught up on their hepatitis B vaccination status. Yes parents, that means you.

If you have a history of severe allergic reaction after a previous dose of any hepatitis B vaccine, or to any ingredient of HEPLISAV-B, including yeast, do not take HEPLISAV-B
HEPLISAV-B must be given by a medical professional, who will monitor you afterwards to check for allergic reaction
If you are immunocompromised, or receiving immunosuppressant therapy, you may have less of an immune response to HEPLISAV-B
Some people have hepatitis B infection without being aware of it or showing any symptoms. If you already have hepatitis B present in your body, HEPLISAV-B may not prevent hepatitis B infection
The most common side effects reported by patients within 7 days of vaccination with HEPLISAV-B were pain at the site of injection (23%-39%), tiredness (11%-17%), and headache (8%-17%)
Important Safety Information
* The CDC recommends hepatitis B vaccination for all adults ages 19-59 years old, as well as adults older than 60 with risk factors for hepatitis B. Anyone 60 years or older who does not meet risk-based recommendations may still receive hepatitis B vaccination.

Parents are constantly told to make sure their kids are active and to get enough exercise—so why not jump on the bandwagon and use it as an opportunity to catch up while getting active.
1.
1
Get active
We know, we know: Kids these days are bound to roll their eyes at the idea of powering down their smartphones and tablets. But if you can get them to roll the dice—sometimes, literally—on a classic tabletop game like Monopoly, Checkers, Scrabble, or even a puzzle, it can be loads of fun. Plus, the slower pace of screen free play lends itself to casual conversation that can be an easy way for them to update you on their personal life.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Do not administer HEPLISAV-B to individuals with a history of severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis) after a previous dose of any hepatitis B vaccine or to any component of HEPLISAV-B, including yeast.
Appropriate medical treatment and supervision must be available to manage possible anaphylactic reactions following administration of HEPLISAV-B.
Immunocompromised persons, including individuals receiving immunosuppressant therapy, may have a diminished immune response to HEPLISAV-B.
Hepatitis B has a long incubation period. HEPLISAV-B may not prevent hepatitis B infection in individuals who have an unrecognized hepatitis B infection at the time of vaccine administration.
The most common patient-reported adverse reactions reported within 7 days of vaccination were injection site pain (23%-39%), fatigue (11%-17%), and headache (8%-17%).
