“The best part of being an SHN member is the flexibility to swap tickets for different nights, as well as getting more tickets for friends and family to join you.” For Andrew, SHN membership means sharing arts and culture with friends and family. Andrew and his wife purchased memberships with three other couples, and last season they added two more couples to the group. Their pre-show routine includes meeting up at a restaurant for cuisine inspired by the performance ahead; for example, they had Vietnamese food before Miss Saigon and ate at a New York deli before A Bronx Tale. This season, they’re looking forward to seeing My Fair Lady — and finding a place that serves fish and chips to hit before. Member tip: For those who like cocktails, Andrew suggests purchasing a reusable SHN plastic cup and putting your intermission order in before the show starts.

HAMILTON
Ongoing Hamilton is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now.
The Band’s Visit
May 26–June 21, 2020 The Band's Visit was the winner of 10 Tony Awards, including BEST MUSICAL, making it one of the most Tony-winning musicals in history. It was also the 2019 Grammy Awards® winner for Best Musical Theater Album.
MEAN GIRLS
June 30–Aug. 2, 2020 Mean Girls is the hilarious hit musical from an award-winning creative team, including book writer Tina Fey (“30 Rock”), composer Jeff Richmond (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and director Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon)
MY fair lady
Aug. 5–30, 2020 Based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, My Fair Lady has been delighting theatergoers (and getting songs stuck in their heads) since opening on Broadway in 1956. Director Bartlett Sher’s version offers a fresh take on the classic musical.
THE BOOK OF MORMON
March 31 – April 26, 2020 The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century." And The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals."

Given the Grammy®, the Pulitzer Prize, and yes, Hamilton’s 11 Tony® Awards, we can't help but think the odds of seeing the play in person might be as astronomical for us as a tax on tea imports once was for the colonists. No need to toss any tea chests into the San Francisco Bay, however, as there are several drier and warmer ways to slip into San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre in 2020.

“I became a BroadwaySF member to get first access to tickets, and to have a year full of shows to look forward to.” Though Ashley may have only taken the plunge into membership last year, she’s been a patron of the arts since attending local theater and high school productions with her parents as a child. So far, Ashley’s favorite parts of BroadwaySF membership have included having a dedicated seat and being pleasantly surprised by shows she may not have purchased tickets to otherwise. This season, Ashley is looking forward to seeing The Band’s Visit and The Last Ship with her mother and other theater-obsessed friends.
Member tip: For members who live outside the city like Ashley, she recommends reserving a parking spot in a garage close to the theater a few days ahead of time.
ASHLEY AIRHEART
“I had heard nothing but excellent reviews about membership and wanted to experience it myself. It makes it so much easier to make sure I can see the shows that I want to see!” Every BroadwaySF member should have a theater-loving friend like Nicole — not only has she been a fan since she was a child, but she also attended Marin School of the Arts, a Bay Area arts-focused high school. As a university student with a busy and seemingly ever-changing schedule, Nicole appreciates how easy BroadwaySF makes it for members to change their ticket date; she’s found that this flexibility makes her much more inclined to book tickets to see a show. This season, Nicole is most looking forward to seeing The Band’s Visit and My Fair Lady.
Member tip: Don’t learn the hard way — Nicole stresses the importance of getting to the theater at least 30 minutes before curtain call.
Nicole Richter
“I used to miss out on shows because I didn’t know many other theater fans and didn’t have the drive to seek out tickets on my own. Now as a member, I have no excuse to ever miss a show again!” Like many young fans, it was a Broadway show — a performance of The Lion King that she saw at age 15 with her parents — that got Marie hooked on theater. After years of supporting the arts, Maria became a BroadwaySF member for the assurance of getting tickets to every production — but it’s the flexibility of making changes and the free, behind-the-scenes events offered exclusively to members that keep her renewing year after year. Best of all, Marie has gotten to see the same caliber of talent from all those years ago, including many of her favorite Broadway stars as well as others she may not have discovered if not for BroadwaySF. This season, Marie is looking forward to seeing Mean Girls and My Fair Lady.
Member tip: When she saw Mamma Mia! in 2014, Marie stumbled upon the gem that is Sam’s Diner — she’ll tell you it was the best accident ever, and that she now never eats anywhere else before a show at the Orpheum.
Marie Hoag
“Sara and I started seeing shows together at BroadwaySF about 10 years ago, so becoming a member was the obvious next step! We saw this as a way for best friends to commit to seeing great theatre together!” Talk about best friend goals. Jen has been going to the Orpheum and Golden Gate Theatre since she was a little girl, her first show being Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby, and she has shared her love of BroadwaySF theater with Sara for more than a decade. The best friends love getting to see Broadway shows and talent at home in the Bay Area, and sharing the experience with other friends and loved ones — including kids and partners. This season, Jen and Sara are looking forward to seeing The Last Ship and The Band’s Visit.
Member Tip: When seeing a show at the Golden Gate Theatre, Jen and Sara like to hit up Popson’s or The Flying Falafel for a quick bite or Montesacro for a sit-down dinner.
