The new Little Saint will take the meatless menu to new heights as the Healdsburg outpost of San Francisco’s Michelin-starred Single Thread. Set in the former SHED, Little Saint will anchor the 10,000-square-foot cultural space that will serve as the hub for musical performances, film screenings, and art installations, beginning with Alice Sutro’s free-hand figure drawings that span the building façade. Sutro’s project is one of three installations from local woman artists this summer. Little Saint will draw from the newly established Little Saint Farm for much of its provender. Speaking of fresh, the recently opened Asahi Sushi & Kitchen offers Japanese cuisine right off the plaza.
Fresh faces are always in evidence around Healdsburg, a perfect destination for family groups of all ages. BonTon Baby has recently opened to help clothe the little ones for their plaza play and other activities. Winemaker Alice Warnecke Sutro from Warnecke Ranch & Vineyard is also inviting guests to join her for a 45-minute nature hike throughout the vineyard, a rare opportunity to learn about the important role vineyards play in supporting the local ecosystem. Alexander Valley’s Jordan Winery has also added a key environmental component to complement award-winning vineyards. The Jordan family has dedicated eight acres to creating a butterfly sanctuary, an area they will enhance with yarrow, milkweed, bluegrass, and other butterfly attractors, including a grove of manzanita trees.
