HIV mortality

While the care and treatment of HIV has vastly improved in the last 40 years, HIV/AIDS is still deadly.

In 2021

1,748

people died of HIV/AIDS, making the rate of death for people living with HIV 7 per 100,000.

That puts the death rate in Texas from HIV higher than all forms of meningitis and hepatitis combined.
