Mount Tamalpais
If you want a wedding fit for a princess, look no further than the Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley. Outdoor weddings here are idyllic year-round, with views of Mount Tamalpais and Richardson Bay serving as a backdrop worthy of any fairy tale. The property accommodates both small and midsize weddings, anywhere from 40 to 120 guests.
On the big day, the bride is the star of the show, making her grand entrance by gliding down an outdoor spiral staircase that leads to the bayside terrace. Then guests move into the elegant Richardson Room for the reception. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that open to a bayside terrace, there’s no better view for a Champagne toast.

Mountain Home Inn
The Mountain Home Inn in Mill Valley is part of a collection of properties branded as “romantic places” with spectacular views from their 105-year-old restaurant high atop Mt. Tamalpais. It is a place to be shared with family and friends. Perhaps consider reserving the entire inn for more intimacy.
Known for pampering guests, the Mountain Home Inn is an iconic destination loved by both locals and global jet setters. Four of the suites have Jacuzzi tubs in the rooms, along with fireplaces. They also have two resident massage therapists that can be booked for in-room body treatments. So, for the ultimate wedding experience, there is no place better in Marin than this slice of heaven.
The Straus Family in West Marin will host your wedding from mid-May through October, usually on weekends for up to 180 guests depending on availability. Small elopements are possible year-round (though size and weather are factors). Choose between a ceremony in the eucalyptus grove or in the front garden with a reception in their 160-year-old hay barn which is very popular! They can also host your rehearsal dinner and next day brunch. The Straus Home Ranch is also a perfect spot for family and guests to just hang out, play lawn games, and use as a home base to explore all that West Marin offers, including kayaking, hiking, local oysters and artisan cheeses.
Falkirk Cultural Center
Escape to a very private location surrounded by nature where your guests can refresh their outlook on this beautiful thing called life. As a family owned and operated private ranch, home to Purebred Angus cattle and a flock of sheep, The Haven at Tomales is exclusively yours for your special day. A self-guided tour is made available to all guests throughout the Terraced Garden, Covered Patio and Historic Barn.
Choose from several outdoor ceremony locations for your wedding or elopement ceremony and find the scenic location that speaks best to you. Whether it is intimate and woodsy, or adventurous overlooking rolling hills, The Haven at Tomales as a historic location is truly the Bay Area's hidden treasure event venue.
Falkirk Cultural Center
For a somewhat less traditional wedding venue, consider the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael. The estate spans 11 acres, including wooded hillsides, a ceremonial rose garden, a private wedding lawn, and a verandah for outdoor dining and wedding receptions. The estate accommodates weddings parties of up to 125 guests.
The main attraction is definitely the 1888 Queen Anne Victorian building itself. With large, sun-filled rooms, coffered ceilings, wood paneling, decorative fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling stained-glass windows, no detail will go unnoticed on your special day.
