Cannabis is big business in California. In 2018 alone, The Golden State saw $2.75 billion in marijuana sales, by far the most in the U.S.
California has always been a leader in the cannabis industry. In 1996, the state became the first to legalize medicinal marijuana, and 10 years later, they were among the early adopters of recreational weed. And almost every step of the way, NorCal Cannabis Company has been there to lead, support, and nurture its home state’s burgeoning marijuana infrastructure.
NorCal was founded back in 2014, the first permitted medical cannabis delivery dispensary in the city of San Francisco. They quickly opened their first cultivation on Bryant St. less than a year later. Now, with the addition of two sites, one in the Mission District and the other in Santa Rosa, the company yields more than 12 tons of product every year. And with its vast delivery network (No. 1 in California), NorCal is able to deliver that product to 10 million North California customers in under an hour.
By encompassing everything from cultivation to production, retail, delivery and more, NorCal Cannabis Company is building one of the most impactful cannabis ecosystems in California.
While the size of NorCal’s operation is crucial to its ability to serve its customers, perhaps even more significant is the company’s experience. From the very beginning, NorCal has been involved in every facet of the business, from seed to sale, and they’ve expanded their reach and expertise as medicinal marijuana expanded to recreational and grew from there.
It all starts with cultivation, literally the seeds of the industry. NorCal emphasizes a hybrid approach to horticulture, enlisting some of the state’s best botanists and farmers, providing them with cutting edge technology to ensure precise control of the environment. This formula has produced a line of award-winning strains and products ready for processing, another NorCal specialty honed over the years to guarantee the perfect grow. From there, NorCal’s production capacity comes into play with 130,000 combined square-feet of indoor production space.
The result has been a rapidly expanding line of strains, extracts, concentrates, and edibles. Once again, the years of experience providing for wholesalers has given NorCal the insight into what customers want. And as a result, in 2019, NorCal launched their own market-leading consumer house brands, something for everyone at every budget, all noted for superior flavor, aroma, and consistency.
For instance, 1Lyfe is NorCal’s ultra-premium cannabis grown with a meticulous eye for each detail, available in three strands: Wedding Cuvee, a sweet blend that is uplifting and engaging; Venom OG, an earthier hybrid that soothes; and Dosi-Doze, a softer, slightly floral strand that is pure bliss. There’s also lolo—High for Low—that was grown and packaged to deliver a lasting high at an affordable price.
And now, in addition to their vast delivery network, which makes more than 2,500 deliveries per day, NorCal is developing a pipeline that currently includes more than 10 new dispensary sites under development with the goal of reaching more than 40 dispensaries and delivery depots by 2020.
But as large as NorCal has grown, they haven’t lost the personal touch. The hallmark of NorCal, whether through delivery or dispensary is a customer-first approach that invites and educates new and curious cannabis consumers while also maintaining the quality and service expected by longtime regulars. It’s all part of NorCal’s mission to continue to lead the California cannabis industry it has helped build.
