The Rudd Learning Center exists to provide students with individuated learning profiles the support needed to gain the academic confidence to succeed. Founded by Salisbury faculty member Josephine Bauman Rudd more than 75 years ago, the Rudd Learning Center pioneered the field of academic support. Now, the Rudd Learning Center is recognized as one of the leading learning centers in New England.
“The confidence and independence my son garnered from his experience in the Rudd Center has transformed his educational experience,” says one parent of a current Salisbury Knight. “His growth into a diligent and accountable student has enabled him to enjoy his classes and will poise him for success in college.”
The goal of the Rudd Learning Center is to help students develop strategies to become more independent learners and reach a greater level of academic success in areas ranging from reading comprehension to STEM courses. This one-on-one instruction from professionally trained learning specialists is profoundly effective for students with learning challenges related to executive function skills, language-based skills like reading, writing, verbal expression, as well as dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyslexia, processing speed, and working memory. Each student who goes to the Center receives a personalized plan on how to reach their academic goals.
