SENIORS AT HOME
At 92, Naomi lives in a senior living community. She is very independent, but macular degeneration has made some household chores more difficult. Her daughter-in-law, Sara, visits weekly and does her best to help. But their time together is more enjoyable visiting, so the to-do list often goes unfinished.
As Naomi’s stress grew with her expanding list of chores, Sara realized that some sort of professional assistance would be helpful. She contacted Seniors At Home, who matched Naomi with a personal assistant, Mary Kay.
A personal assistant can quickly become a trusted companion, providing not just help but friendship. “I liked Mary Kay immediately,” says Naomi. “I can’t say enough about how lovely it is to have her here. She’s more than a helper. She’s a friend.”

A New Friend
A Full-Service Approach to Aging at Home
Mary Kay visits Naomi once or twice a week, helping her place Amazon orders, troubleshoot devices, and keep her home organized. Even the most independent older adults need an occasional helping hand. A personal assistant can help with a variety of tasks, like setting up a new computer or tablet, organizing paperwork, accompanying clients to appointments and errands, and more.
Personal Assistants Can Help With a Variety of Projects:

The best personal assistants are flexible, skilled in many areas, and able to anticipate needs and find solutions. Mary Kay noticed that Naomi was having trouble seeing inside some of her cabinets. She couldn’t find the light switches due to her declining sight. Mary Kay had illuminated light switches installed, which Naomi found much easier to see and operate.
Less Frustration, More Time for Enjoyment
“When she’s here to help, it keeps me from getting frustrated,” Naomi says of Mary Kay. And with the burden of chores lifted, Naomi and her family can focus on enjoying their time together. Sara agrees, “A personal assistant relieves the pressure. My husband and I love that we’re able to spend our time with Naomi going out to lunch, or just having fun.”
