Okay, well, of course they actually are on Yelp, because everything is. But you get the point, these are the best of the best. Whether you're looking for a traditional Mexican taco, something a little more Tex-Mex, or heck, even a breakfast taco, you've come to the right place. You're in good hands with us, so let's go on a Texas-sized taco adventure, shall we? We traversed the state—from the vibrant streets of Austin to the Rio Grande Valley, from Brownsville in the south to the far reaches of the Panhandle—in search of the best of the best tacos and taquerias.

Let's start in Plano. La Bambas Tacos is a taqueria that is hard to find but worth the effort. La Bamba Tacos opened earlier this year and is tucked away in a shopping center off Parker Road and Alma Drive. Try not to miss it, it's so new that it barely pops up in Google maps, what an adventure.
Next, let's head over to Sazzon Baja-Mex Culinary in Alpine for some smoked marlin quesadillas, shrimp tacos, and grilled fish tacos. Sazzon is known for its handmade tortillas and unique take on Baja-Mex cuisine.
We’ll go to El Come Taco in Old East Dallas, for the cabeza a la casa. And we’ll stay, for La Viuda Negra, a casual speakeasy next door and behind a bridal shop.

Is it even a Texas tacos list if it doesn't mention Torchy's Tacos? Texans ride hard for Torchy's Tacos for a few reasons—some practical, some emotional, but mostly because of the green chile queso. Often called one of the best in the state. It's spicy, creamy, and topped with guac, cotija, and hot sauce. Order it. Or you will regret it.
We'll close this adventure out at the heart of Austin's taco scene by swinging by Nixta Taqueria. Local legend, Chef Edgar Rico is famous for turning out house-made tortillas with some surprising toppings, including duck carnitas taco and the beet tartare tostada with avocado crema and salsa macha aioli.
Oh, and we can't leave out the Austin taco trail of (happy) tears: Cuantos, Discada, Suerte, and Yellow Bell.
And we could do a whole other article on breakfast tacos, and do you know what? We just might. But until then, we'll leave you with this sure breakfast bet: Con Huevos Tacos in San Antonio.
