The Locals' Guide to Fun for All Ages in Kenosha County
For those in search of a getaway full of fun and adventure, Kenosha is the perfect destination. A gem on the sparkling shores of Lake Michigan, this vibrant town is full of culture and excitement. Downtown Kenosha is a hub of history, entertainment, and countless opportunities for recreation. But the charms of Kenosha don’t stop there. Kenosha County at large also has plenty of merriment to offer, all served up with the warm hospitality that the area is known for.
Kenosha locals know firsthand that, as fun as Downtown Kenosha is, there’s also more excitement to be had when you travel west of I-94. Kenosha native Rachael Muhlenbeck notes, “I think people are surprised that there’s more west of I-94 than what they think. Even sometimes residents who lived in Kenosha for a long time haven’t made their way as far west. There’s so much to do. I can be at the lake in 15 minutes, I can jump on a boat on the lake with friends, I can be at the golf course in 10 minutes, I can be on the river kayaking in 15 minutes. I think the misconception is, ‘There’s cornfields for days, there’s nothing to do,’ but that’s really not the case at all. People are pleasantly surprised that there’s a lot going on. There’s a lot to offer, no matter what you’re looking for.”

Escobedo also loves Kenosha for its friendly vibrant culture. Says Escobedo, “There's never a shortage of something fun going on for everyone's taste. Downtown gets most of the attention but there are so many amazing experiences and restaurants all over the city and county that rival anything downtown has to offer. Every time I meet people from out of town, they're always pleasantly surprised at how much they've really enjoyed their time visiting Kenosha and all of its numerous offerings. They're always surprised that they want to come back and explore the city even more. Oftentimes out of towners become repeat visitors, which makes me proud of what our city has to offer and the lasting impression it leaves.”
