H-E-B’s Hunger Relief Program works year-round to fight hunger in Texas and Mexico. Hunger relief has been a key focus for H-E-B since the first store opened in 1905. For more than a century now, H-E-B's commitment and involvement in the communities it serves has been an important part of the way the company does business. Since the inception of the Hunger Relief Program, H-E-B has donated over 1 billion pounds of food to help nourish neighbors in communities throughout Texas and Mexico.
Through H-E-B Hunger Relief Program initiatives, such as the H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program and Feast of Sharing holiday dinners, H-E-B is able to give back to its customers and communities across the state and to demonstrate the true H-E-B Spirit of Giving.
The H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program works year-round to raise awareness and battle hunger in Texas and Mexico by supporting 18 Feeding America Food Banks and 13 Mexican Association of Food Banks that fight hunger and malnutrition.

The H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program works year-round to raise awareness and battle hunger in Texas and Mexico. At H-E-B we know that 1 in 7 of our fellow Texans experience food insecurity.
Since the inception of our Food Bank Assistance Program in 1982, H-E-B has donated over 1 billion pounds of product to food banks across Texas and Mexico. These donations come from H-E-B retail grocery stores, warehouses and manufacturing plants.
The H-E-B Food Bank Assistance Program supports 18 Feeding America Food Banks that are part of the Texas Food Bank Network, and 13 Mexican Association of Food Banks that fight hunger and malnutrition.
H-E-B makes a point of ensuring that all donations to food banks in Texas and Mexico are both responsible and cost effective for the food banks. That’s why, about 25 percent of all food bank contributions made by H-E-B were delivered directly from the H-E-B Reclamation Center. These loads were delivered at no cost to the food banks, which translates into substantial savings for the participating food banks.
H-E-B’s Retail Donation Program accounts for about 50 percent of total food bank donations, which enabled stores to donate unsold perishables to food banks in their areas.
In addition, H-E-B provided Fixed Assets to food banks like material handling equipment, storage racks and refrigeration systems.
Partnerships
H-E-B works with many partners as part of a commitment to fight hunger and is proud to support
