I Turned My Beauty Routine into a Self-Love Routine—Here's How
For busy college students, it can be hard to find time to practice self-care. From all-nighters spent studying to weekend parties, a set time to relax can easily get lost in the shuffle. Rather than rush to get ready every morning and night, I’ve made an effort to slow down my routine and be more intentional in my beauty rituals. Of course, I don't always have time to spend hours on skincare, makeup, hair, and body care, but every so often, it feels great to slow down and enjoy the process. Here are some ways you can turn your beauty routine into a self-love routine, too!

Adding little steps in your beauty routine that are good for you will make a big difference in how you look and feel. Whether it's always remembering to wear an SPF, taking your daily vitamins, or drinking plenty of water, prioritizing your overall health will make you glow from the inside out! Even if you only have one free hour a week to dedicate to self-love, it’s so important to slow down and be intentional with your beauty routine every once in a while. Not only is it great to take time to relax, but turning your beauty routine into a self-love routine will help you to appreciate the simple pleasure of getting ready for the day!
Take care of yourself
When your beauty arsenal includes soothing products that you feel great using, you’ll enjoy your routine that much more. Nair’s Sensitive Shower Cream is infused with coconut oil and vitamin E, and will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. If you prefer waxing, Nair’s new Sensitive Wax Strips are another great option. They’re formulated with calming chamomile extract that’s gentle on sensitive skin.
Choose soothing products
Affirmations are a powerful way to shift your mindset, boost your confidence, and show yourself a little love. So, why not incorporate them into your daily beauty routine? First, come up with a list of affirmations you want to use. “I am resilient,” “I accept all of me with love,” and “I am beautifully unique” are a few examples, but you can use any positive message that resonates with you! While you’re doing your skincare routine or putting on your makeup, try repeating the affirmations to yourself. You can also write them down and stick them to your mirror for a constant reminder to love and cherish yourself!

4 Ways to Nurture Your Spirit with Self-Care
Your spirit is your true essence—the inner energy that's uniquely, undeniably you. And just like your body and mind, your spirit requires (and deserves!) regular care and attention. One of the best ways to nurture your spirit is by practicing a self-care routine. When you're a busy college student, it can be hard to find time to attend to your body and spirit. That's why we’ve created a list of four easy self-care activities you can fit into your schedule:
Keeping a journal is a great way to reflect at the end of the day, and it can help you work through your thoughts and emotions. Personally, I know I feel the best when I take some time to get my thoughts on paper. You can even find some great journaling prompts online if you’re not sure where to start! Carving out a little bit of time throughout the week to practice self-care is essential for maintaining your spirit so that you can feel like the best version of yourself every day!
Write in a journal
Clear your calendar for at least one night per week to give yourself a full-on spa experience. Using this time intentionally to honor yourself and your spirit will set you up for success. Soak in a bubble bath, apply your favorite face mask, and remove any unwanted hair with your favorite soothing Nair™ products. Nair™ Spa Sugar Wax is perfect for getting spa-worthy results from the comfort of your home. If your skin needs a little extra TLC, you can also use Nair™ Aloe & Water Lily Body Cream, which is infused with soothing aloe and has a light, refreshing water lily scent.
Schedule a weekly spa night
When’s the last time you were able to unplug entirely? If your screen time is as high as mine (guilty), then I’ll bet your answer is not often enough. Instead of scrolling on your phone before bed, take some time to unwind with a book. Light some candles, throw on your coziest pajamas, and let yourself be totally at ease. Then, grab your current read (or something new!) and escape into the world within the pages.
Unwind with a Book
GO BACK TO WORSHIP YOUR Spirit
Your spirit and body are closely intertwined, so when you nurture one, the other benefits! Honor your body by taking care of it. No need for an intense workout regimen—just moving your body for a little bit each day will help you boost your energy and mood. Grab your headphones and go for a long walk, sign up for a yoga class, or simply have a solo dance party in your room. However you choose to move, think of it as a time of taking care of yourself and your spirit rather than a chore you feel obligated to do.
