CARBON DIOXIDE
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions are a significant contributor to global warming and climate change. CO₂ emissions are released into the atmosphere from a variety of sources, including heavy industry (steel, cement, refining and petrochemicals), commercial and industrial operators, energy suppliers, and aviation industry participants. These industries are responsible for a significant portion of the world's total CO₂ emissions, estimated to be around 36 billion metric tons per year.
NITROUS OXIDE
Nitrous oxide (N₂O) is widely produced through human activities such as agriculture, industrial processes, and transportation. Its global warming potential (GWP) is ~298 times greater than CO₂ over a 100-year time frame.
METHANE
Methane is produced from human activities such as agriculture, livestock farming, and the extraction and transport of fossil fuels. Its global warming potential is 28 times greater than that of carbon dioxide (CO₂) over a 100-year time horizon.
HYDROFLUOROOLEFINS
Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) are greenhouse gases used as refrigerants and in air conditioning systems. They have high global warming potential (GWP) and contribute to climate change. Many countries have agreed to phase out their use, and alternatives such as Hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) with lower global warming potential are being used to reduce the impact on the environment.
