Aerospace engineering/aeronautics student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Internship location: Phoenix
How do you see automation, the future of aviation, and/or energy transition influencing your career path?
I believe automation helps to minimize the tedious and repetitive tasks that can come up. Automation allows for engineers to focus on what is interesting – think spending less time detailing charts in spreadsheets or converting code from an old program to the newest version. Automation allows for accelerated change and growth in engineering fields.
What kinds of challenges are you inspired to help solve in your career?
I am inspired to help with the challenges that come with bringing automation to the aerospace industry. Many tools and technologies that we use are incredibly sensitive, enough so that even static electricity from your hair can damage that tool. Using automation to deal with these tools comes with the challenge of assuring that nothing is damaged unintentionally, but eventually the benefits of using automation will be worth overcoming these challenges.
