Arthur Bray, creative music producer and one of the founders of ground-breaking Asian music collective Yeti Out, embodies the same attitude towards life as the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet series in his never-ending drive to create and promote underground music.
"I think staying focused is very important,” says Arthur. “Yeti Out was originally a music blog set up by myself and a housemate in university, and then it gradually developed into a music collective through our passion for music. Once you discover your own interests and goals, focus on realising them. That will bring you the biggest sense of satisfaction."
Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, unveiled in 2019, represents the most comprehensive launch in the Manufacture’s history with 13 references in total – including five complications and three new in-house movements. Haute Horlogerie dovetails with pioneering design in this multifaceted watch seamlessly interweaving the round and the octagonal. The timepiece’s multiple geometries and ergonomic curvature made the conception, manufacturing and decoration of each component particularly intricate. Complex programming, dedicated tools and highly specialised human talent had to be combined for the industrialisation and hand-finishing of the components.
Arthur likens the innovative breakthroughs in watchmaking technology required to design Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet to the problem-solving nature of the creative process. "Overcoming challenges and surpassing yourself, solving problems and putting something novel into the world; it all comes down to creativity. And to be creative, you need a vision and a base of knowledge. That’s why I’m always out looking for inspiration, whether that’s in classic works of art or in daily life.”
