Highland Park Heather Takeover Singapore in Stunning 3D Display
Grand 3D Heather bloom displays usher in a new era of
Highland Park’s distinctive whisky.
Highland Park’s story may have started in Orkney over 226 years ago, but it’s anything but traditional. It’s a place defined not just by its stunning natural beauty, but also by the creative, resourceful spirit of the people who live there Far from the mainland and far from the mainstream, Orkney’s inhabitants have always been inspired by the strong nature which surrounds them. It’s this unique nature that shapes a whisky that’s as distinctive as the land itself. The result? A whisky that’s truly ‘Different By Nature’, in every sense of the word.
This year marks a bold new chapter for the brand, as Highland Park brings the magic of Orkney to the vibrant urban cities of Asia. In a stunning series of 3D video animations, shot across Taipei, Shanghai, and Singapore, the wild beauty of Orkney takes over the cities with heather blooms enveloping famous landmarks in a surreal "heather invasion." The concrete cities transform, blending the natural and the urban into enchanting landscapes.
These captivating 3D effects aren’t just a visual treat—they’re a celebration of Orkney’s unique beauty and spirit. Through them, Highland Park introduces new audiences to the island’s distinctive element: Orkney heather. It’s what gives Highland Park whisky its unparalleled flavour, making each bottle as unforgettable as the islands themselves.
The Magic of Orkney
“Everything comes back to Orkney, from how we craft our whisky, to how it gets its distinctive taste, to the incredible community of people who do things their own way. The beauty and creativity of our island home continues to inspire us, as well as the unique flavour of the local heathered peat, which, with the new packaging design, is now celebrated, front and center. We’re excited to share this new design direction for Highland Park, which truly reflects the freshness and modernity of our Orkney home,” says Highland Park’s Global Brand Director, Paul Condron.
To truly understand what makes Highland Park exceptional, it’s essential to understand where it comes from—and the people who craft it. Orkney’s invigorating winds, temperate climate, and warmth of the Gulf Stream all converge to shape the land. Despite these dynamic conditions, where even trees struggle to grow against the strong winds, Orkney still thrives each summer, blanketed in a sea of vibrant heather, that over thousands of years, has infused Orkney peat—and the whisky—with its unique flavour.
These natural features, combined with the passion and creativity of Orkney’s people, are key to Highland Park’s identity. When Orkney’s heather-rich peat is used to smoke the malted barley, it gives the resulting whisky a subtle hint of aromatic smoke that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. With this, the people of Orkney—crafters, distillers, and visionaries— ensure that each drop of whisky is made with care, skill, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
The Soul of Orkney
This profound connection to Orkney is reflected in Highland Park’s refreshed packaging. The new bottles feature a subtle wood-grain texture, while the glass is clearer, allowing the whisky’s true, natural colour to shine through. Boldly emblazoned with “Product of Orkney,” each bottle pays tribute not just to the island’s landscape, but to the hardworking community that shapes the spirit within. As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, the updated packaging comes in fully recyclable cartons, reinforcing Highland Park’s dedication to both quality and the environment.
Our Connection to Orkney
Highland Park’s signature range of 12, 15, and 18-year-old single malts offers a taste of Orkney’s distinctive influence. Each age statement showcases the island’s natural elements, from the bold, yet subtly smoky notes of the 12-year-old whisky aged in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, to the zesty citrus finish of the 15-year-old. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old delivers a rich tapestry of fruity and spicy notes. While each expression brings its unique flavour profile, they all share a deep connection to the heritage and soul of Orkney.
