Amadi Brooks, Kesha McLeod and Kwasi Kessie create original outfits inspired by the McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ collectible cups, translating their design into wearable style
Amadi Brooks’s perspective is shaped by her roots in sport and her evolution into fashion. For the McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ project, her approach centered on translating the energy of the game into something fun and wearable, turning the collectible cups into style statements. As she puts it, “It’s truly an honor to be part of a project that sits at the intersection of global culture, sport, and style. It’s about taking a familiar, everyday object and elevating it into something expressive, intentional, and culturally relevant.”
“Here, I leaned into a clean, minimal aesthetic as a nod to the country’s style sensibility. The cup itself was so bold and colorful, I introduced those pops of color through layered elements like the plaid skirt as a contrast; adding dimension without disrupting the simplicity. To tie in the sporty edge, I finished the look with tube socks and a pointed-toe sneakeresque pump, blending both worlds and playing with the duality of sporty and feminine.”
“For this look, I focused on texture and movement, incorporating raffia and fringe as a subtle homage to traditional craftsmanship and cultural expression. To ground the look in sport, I paired it with a white cleated sneaker boot. I also made sure the color story intentionally reflected the Mexican flag, tying the entire look together in a way that felt both culturally relevant and elevated.”
I wanted to reference the American flag without interpreting it too literally. I played with pattern mixing (my recent obsession), combining blue and white polka dots with bold, chunky stripes to create a fresh, fashion-forward take on classic Americana. The feathered detailing on the denim was a deliberate choice to evoke the energy of fireworks and bring movement to the look.
Kesha McLeod brings her athlete-styling pedigree to McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ moment, where sport and fashion naturally collide. Long known for shaping how athletes show up beyond the game, she saw the opportunity as a personal challenge. “My initial reaction was, who, me? Then it quickly became, yes, me,” she says, adding that working with McDonald’s on a stage as global as the World Cup felt fully aligned with her identity and approach.
Brazil had to feel vibrant and full of life, but I also wanted it to feel powerful. That’s where the white suit came in, something that felt strong and global, while still layering in hints of green and yellow. Brazil is often seen as fun and celebratory, but I wanted this look to show presence and ownership, like we walked in and owned the room while still keeping it fashion forward.
For this look, I looked into the uniform and was really drawn to the colors. I had also spent time working in Spain and traveling to Madrid with my football clients, so I felt genuinely connected to the culture. Lamine represents the next generation, so the look reflects that energy while still feeling elevated and true to the country’s identity, balancing sport, fashion, and pride without overcomplicating it.
Kwasi Kessie is fueled by nostalgia and culture, making him a standout talent for this McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ moment. McDonald’s is part of his upbringing so he wanted to do something new with a twist. As he puts it, “It’s an incredible moment to be part of a project that brings together two iconic, world-renowned brands that shaped my childhood,” grounding his approach in memory, identity and the global energy of the game.
Son embodies national pride in a way that feels both powerful and deeply personal, which I connect with. That sense of identity became the foundation for the look. I worked within a red palette, pushing proportions and silhouettes to create something that felt dynamic yet effortless. An off-duty football star with quiet confidence and presence.
With Grimace, the direction was rooted in color psychology. Purple, often associated with royalty, became the anchor—rich, bold, and intentional. I wanted the look to feel elevated, balancing that sense of power with personality. A purple satin bomber paired with leather pants from my brand, KOS, grounded the look in a modern, tactile edge.
