Pierpaolo Piccioli is a designer and creative director with a firmly established aesthetic vocabulary.
Piccioli’s work can often make one feel as though they’ve entered another world. In this case, a divine world featuring A-line puffer capes, skirts, elbow-length gloves, and capelets designed to evoke the Madonna.
Held to a league of their own, Moncler’s reimagined outerwear waltzes and floats through a historical urban landscape;
the iconic Moncler puffer jackets take statuesque shapes as their black, off-white, and berry-toned pieces gleam through the night.

Of all the Moncler Genius collaborations, the Grenoble collection is perhaps the one that draws the most from the brand’s ski and winter sports heritage.
Featuring a selection of highly durable and heat-storing outerwear pieces, the collection includes a wide variety of high quality materials, such as velvet, corduroy and faux-fur.
The distinctive designs in the Grenoble Moncler Genius collection balance the premium, experimental fashion elements with technical activewear features, offering products that are both elegant and functional.

Simone Rocha has taken the concept of Moncler outerwear and made it Ready-to-Wear. Applying her signature light, feminine shapes and tulle to classic hiking boots, Rocha complimented her considerate layers with fur trimmings, Lolita accessories, and floral motifs with light pinks to juxtapose the utility monochrome. Born into a fashion family, Rocha’s collection is where the Genius concept and the Simone Rocha world intersect.
Why is it important for designers to collaborate?
A lot of your designs are about structured shapes and fabrics, how did you go about your processes for Moncler? Did you start from scratch with this or have something in mind?
Who did you design this collection for?
Spaces and materials are of course of interest to a designer - how did you decide how to display your collection?
Your use of layering, fabrics, and subtle color is strong yet subtle - can you tell us how you injected your own House personality into a more outerwear range? Did you have full reign or was it an ongoing conversation?
Your use of pinks and reds in this collection are so distinctly you - the ruffles are an interesting touch for this type of material - was this something you've explored before?
How did you go about designing the accessories for this collection?
Anyone that engages with femininity in a modern way.
The classic Moncler Down fabric was reinterpreted in a feminine functional way with volume and silhouette. With process, I wanted to create a uniform of voluminous silhouettes, deconstructed proportions and a new idea of a practical femininity.
Collaboration is very important in many stages of the creative process – it helps to push ideas forward.
Reimagining the classic Down fabric into bags and purses was a great experimentation and development process. Presenting a full look has always been very important to me in my collections so I wanted to continue that with Moncler.
I explored my signature colours of red, pink, ivory and black with pearl. Fabrication and how it is manipulated and developed is a very important part of the design.
I wanted to create an immersive atmosphere that reflected the original research of female mountaineers but I also wanted to contrast this hardness with something softer- so the mountain set was made of paper.
The Simone Rocha femininity is entwined and balanced with the utilitarian practicality of Moncler.
Craig Green’s designs are a conceptual take on outerwear for the daring menswear shopper.
In monochromatic tones, the pieces resemble life rafts, safety vests, and a functional, high-fashion take on space suits.
Green is famous for his dark and heavy aesthetics, and here he explores the relationship between light and dark. In a display of matte nylon and cotton dawns, these pieces take elevated outerwear to the next level.

Influences stem from a manner of sources, from punk rock to clean geometry to nature, with floral shapes making a recurring appearance in the collection, all distorted by Ninomiya’s unmistakable approach.

A variety of fabrics and materials are used in the construction of Ninomiya’s designs. From nylon to leather, the pieces balance function with outlandish, unorthodox ideas that are simultaneously elegant but disruptive.

Created under the direction of esteemed designer Kei Ninomiya, the Moncler x Noir collaboration is arguably the most experimental of the whole Genius Project.
Hiroshi FujiWARA’s fragment design label brings his signature, urban inspired approach to Moncler and creates a mountaineering inspired range with a distinctly modern twist.
More subtle details include text prints on sleeves and removable, rearrangeable velcro badges offering wearers a refreshing level of customisation.
Featuring a mix of durable outerwear, high quality knitwear and classic check patterns,
FujiWARa injects his signature touches in bold, oversized prints that adorn the back of a number of the pieces.
Palm Angels designer Francesco Ragazzi takes us on a tour of his Los Angeles, the city that inspires the Palm Angels aesthetic.
The Palm Angels x Moncler Genius film watches Ragazzi navigate the skate parks and highways of LA while he discusses “synthesizing Moncler’s DNA” and bringing it closer to a streetwear aesthetic.
