Summer is here, and with it comes the music that soundtracks our most unforgettable moments — songs that imprint entire generations, whether it's a new love song, a sultry pop anthem, or a rowdy bop that encapsulates a ubiquitous feeling in time. This season, Hypetrak Magazine makes its grand return with an exciting music platform, powered by Corona® Extra, that embodies a shared ethos to celebrate global community and music’s ability to connect.
Nueva Generaciones spotlights underground artists redefining the sound of tomorrow. Sonically, 54 Ultra, Planta Industrial, dreamcastmoe, FiFi Zhang and duendita weave a kaleidoscopic tapestry of musical and cultural influences, defying genre and paving new territory for up-and-coming visionaries. Though cut from separate cloth, their music shares a common thread, a universal desire to authentically connect with their communities, using music as a catalyst to redefine social landscapes.
Spanning the vibrant warmth of bachata to prismatic BPMs to retro-futuristic soul music, these artists exist within a multicultural orbit tasked with rewriting the tempo for future playlists. Some conjure the past to color the present, finding irreverent joy in the fashion and chart-topping hits of bygone eras. Others look to the horizon, where the cliche and conventional dissolve in the search for collective meaning. In the following interviews, Hypebeast speaks with 54 Ultra, a vintage-obsessed artist from Jersey; Planta Industrial, raised between the Dominican Republic and the Bronx; Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter FiFi Zhang, somewhere off in the stars casting a spell; Washington D.C.'s genre-blending dreamcastmoe; and Queens-bred Nuyorican soul artist duendita.
