Set in Fort Tilden Historic District on the remote Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, New York, the island's desolate eeriness and abundance of abandoned buildings echoes the severe destruction it faced by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.

Inspired by replicant Roy Batty's infamous "Tears in the Rain" monologue from Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi film Blade Runner, the spread follows two survivors of an unknown holocaust as they seek to revive the memories of their pasts while striving to rebuild their lives for an uncertain future.
