PUMA has once again remixed its RS-X silhouette to create a new striking style. The PUMA RS-X Hard Drive shows off high voltage updates to the bulky, tech-forward silhouette. The bright offering makes the already extreme shoe even more exaggerated. The Hard Drive reboots PUMA’s RS-X model, outfitted with a textile and mesh upper and mixed material overlays. The brand’s logo features a technology inspired build, marked by multiple, grate-like lines. A grey upper is offset by bursts of yellow chartreuse, coral red and black, while a white chunky sole rounds out the dramatic aesthetic. The shoe is equipped with the RS-X’s signature technology in the midsole. The construction was originally designed as a running performance innovation in the 80s, and has been reimagined for the modern day consumer to create style-meets-stability offerings. The RS-X Hard Drive will be available on August 1st on PUMA’s website. The shoe retails for $110 USD.

PUMA‘s current slew of releases have been intensively constructed to balance design elements that are futuristic with a retro lean. For its most recent drop from the RS-X line, the “Fourth Dimension” is complemented by an aesthetic as eccentric as its namesake. The footwear label pulled out all the stops with this iteration, making it one of its boldest takes on the model. An intense rush of colors and textures intermingle over the shoe’s construction, making it ready for the spring and summer. The outsole features an icy, translucent purple sole with hits of orange, while soft blue and bright green accents hit ancillary features elsewhere. Moving to the upper, suede is the predominant material amongst perforated, smooth and diamond padded leather. A “Fair Aqua” hue grounds the kicks, and a mix of contrasting black and high wattage pigments — including ombre shading on the heel and a speckled tongue and midsole — creates a bold color combination. Branding on the tongue and midsole add a finishing touch to the remixed running shoe.

Continuing its play with a melange of materials, PUMA mixes leather and a mesh overlay on the upper for another colorway. For this version, white provides the base for the neon “Sweet Lavender” hues to pop with black accents complementing its vintage tonality. The signature logoing once again adds the finishing touch.

Available in two colorways, the shoe combines utility and style. The comfort of RS-Cushioning is matched with a boldly colored chunky silhouette that harkens back to the golden age of the music video. Splayed across the sneaker, black adds contrast to the gradient of “Sweet Lavender” appearing across the lateral, medial and tongue.
