It’s hard to imagine the course of fashion and culture without Ray-Ban. In its eight-decade history, the luxury eyewear brand built a legacy on its boundary-pushing craftsmanship through classic shapes and distinctive retro-yet-futuristic designs. Ray-Ban is particularly influential in the creative space, paving the way for the cult-loved frames to influence fashion itself.
While its creative aesthetic is still constantly evolving, Ray-Ban reimagines and ushers in the reinvented classic styles of the iconic Aviator and Round models.
RAY-BAN ICONS NEVER FADE, THEY ARE REINVENTED
Popularized by General Douglas MacArthur in WW II, The Beatles and Tom Cruise in Top Gun, the Aviator 1937 Limited Edition Classic – available only on ray-ban.com and select Ray-Ban stores – boasts shiny golden metal frames, mother of pearl temple tips and bridge bar, and uses the G-15 green crystal gradient lenses of the original Ray-Ban Aviator, offering a unique declaration of the eyewear’s DNA style.
1937
The Aviator returns in the form of the Blaze Aviator. The new spin on the classic 1937 replaces the gold frames with an innovative rimless, flat lens-over-frame construction and gradient or G-15 lenses on classic gold, silver and gunmetal frames. An electric mirror shades a demi-gloss black version for an energetic and colorful flat lens.
2017
Inspired by ‘60s subcultures, the Classic Round was most worn by music legends, free thinkers and poets. The iconic circular shape looks to metallic frames including Arista gold and fine silver, all reflecting psychedelic culture.
1960s
The circular shape is updated with sharp angles on the Hexagonal sunglasses with new flat crystal lenses in toned-down gradient flash colors including copper, wisteria, gold, gray and light blue.
