With First-Ever
Decanter Collaboration
London’s award-winning designer welcomes you to a sensory experience with Rémy Martin XO on ice.
Rémy Martin enlisted award-winning lighting and furniture designer Lee Broom to reinterpret its Rémy Martin XO cognac decanter since its inception in 1981. The eponymous label, which British designer Lee Broom founded in 2007, lends artistic interpretations to the famous Rémy Martin XO decanter as a vessel and object of elegance, conjuring an intimate, evocative tasting ritual with Rémy Martin’s fine champagne cognac. As a preeminent furniture and lighting manufacturer, Lee Broom’s interior design — revered for its sculptural ingenuity and the ability to elicit light and ambiance from industrial materials and objects of everyday importance — redefines how modern spaces are inhabited.
The London-based product designer summons you to intentionally curate and honor your home with artful, impactful decor. When reconceptualizing the Rémy Martin XO decanter, Broom envisioned the evocative delights of pouring a spirit served over ice: the coolness and brilliant polish of a single ice cube and the cognac’s warm, amber light escaping the glass.
Broom’s interpretation of the Rémy Martin XO decanter welcomes cognac connoisseurs an opportunity to revel in the aromatic qualities of the spirit through ritual preparation. From bottle to glass, Rémy Martin XO’s opulence and aromatic complexity invites you to indulge in cherished moments through your senses.
Driven by excellence in arts and culture, the expert distillery worked in harmonious synergy with Broom, bringing new life to the brand’s iconic glassware and rich heritage style. Meticulous starburst-like cutwork emboldens the solar decanter with a sense of radiance and sculptural likeness to icicles.
The limited-edition decanter accompanies an immersive 3-D rendered mobile experience provided through a QR code, where collectors of the spirit can learn more about Broom’s creative process and access a curated Rémy Martin XO tasting guide. Best served over ice, the Rémy Martin XO Limited Edition by Lee Broom decanter fuses art and design and provides a touch of splendor to contemporary bar carts in the home and beyond.
My exhibitions in particular are known for their dramatic undertones that engage the senses in the same way theater or art does. I like playing with this notion as it is not usual in furniture and lighting design presentations. All of these things come together with the Rémy Martin XO decanter;
I was able to play with light and reflection to evoke that feeling of opulence and coldness, enhancing the decanter’s original design to make the Rémy Martin XO experience evocative and memorable.”
The fine cuts radiate from the centre of the decanter within the original indents, giving a modern twist to the classic design. The delicate lines were inspired by icicles, referencing the sensory experience of
Rémy Martin XO on ice and giving it the
appearance of coldness. The carvings are crafted and play with light reflecting off the decanter, and also enhance the deep hue of the cognac inside. Exactly 400 of these cuts were made to represent each eau-de-vie within the Rémy Martin blend.
