While the new KidSuper HQ isn’t completely constructed, Colm Dillane and Adham Foda have been dreaming about it for years. Currently working out of what they fondly call “the basement” — a Brooklyn studio space that the burgeoning brand has grown out of — the label’s designer and head of digital, respectively, have been combining their dual forces to concept the multi-faceted building. The new studio is more than just that. It’s an emblem of KidSuper’s success and a reflection of Dillane and Foda’s distinct, yet complementary, influences on the brand. A behind-the-scenes look into the new HQ shows how Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G and Galaxy Z Fold3 5G appeal to the talent’s diverging needs while helping them to come together to turn ideas, like the building, into reality.
“The main difference between me and Foda is that I’m never like, ‘You know what I want to do? cryptocurrency,” says Dillane, illustrating the near opposite areas of expertise that he and Foda possess. “And he’s never like, ‘You know what I want to do is play with dolls.’” This dichotomy will come to life in the new space, where Foda, whose main focus is the website and brand’s digital presence, will set up a co-working space for coders and tech enthusiasts like him. Dillane, on the other hand, will continue to design KidSuper’s signature unexpected, out-of-the-box apparel collections.
Despite their differences, they’re both “hotspot boys,”* says Foda. In other words, the duo shares a veracious appetite for constant creation, so to be working on the go is not an unlikely scenario. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G and Galaxy Z Fold3 5G help to make this happen. Foda, whose business card labels him the “Web Man, because it sounds like a superhero,” is able to finish and launch multiple digital products thanks to features like App Split View on Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. For his part, Dillane uses Galaxy Z Flip3 5G to document and study the various sketches and references he collects while simultaneously planning the new studio layout using the device’s multi-window view with compatible apps.
Outside of work, Dillane and Foda share a love of soccer. Serendipitously, the new studio is walking distance from a nearby field where they go to unwind. To them, the sport is also a metaphor for how the pair bounces ideas back and forth for KidSuper. They see themselves as playing different positions for the same team: Foda is like the brand’s goalie, who filters ideas before taking them to the digital space, and Dillane is like the forward, who’s running around for the next opportunity to score. The pitch is also the ideal place for the real life friends to grab a quick photo using Z Fold3 5G’s camera on the hands-free, self-timer mode.
Though still in the works, the KidSuper Dream Building will eventually become a reality, complete with an epic rooftop soccer field with the brand’s Logo Faces Camo print. Meanwhile, the brand will continue its ascension in the fashion space. It’s proof that combining Foda’s powers with Dillane’s can turn any idea into reality.
