Scrapbook:
Paris Fashion Week
With Digital Marketing
Specialist Julia Lang
Scrapbook is HYPEBEAST’s new series that documents the best festivals, events, activations and experiences. Using film photography developed by Manual, we’ll give you an inside look into events from around the globe through the eyes of influential members of the fashion, music and entertainment spheres.
The recent Paris Fashion Week Men’s presentations for Spring/Summer 2020 may have come-and-gone but the exciting shows, products and parties are still echoing in the minds of industry insiders. However, if you weren’t there, HYPEBEAST correspondent and digital marketing expert Julia Lang was in attendance to capture her own experiences to share. Lang has been a frequent figure at any fashion week but Paris SS20 was one for the books for her personally. “My favorite show from this season was Kim Jones’ DIOR event which also revealed a Daniel Arsham collaboration,” says Lang. “Casablanca’s presentation was a great moment too but seeing the sun rise while being amongst peers one night was truly an unforgettable one” Lang continues.
From front row runway seats to attending afterparty events, Julia Lang is a well-seasoned expert at making her PFW presence known. This scrapbook shows us what it’s like to pack, prepare and strategically plan your days for the busy moments ahead. But its not all fun and games as Lang also had to work, getting clients, NBA athletes Rudy Gay and Julius Randle to take over social media accounts for various brands and publications. But on top of that, she also got to see her close industry friends such as Kerby Jean-Raymond, Jerry Lorenzo, J Balvin, Aleali May and more. Lang even got some of them to tell us a few of their “dos and don’ts” for Paris Fashion Week.
Check out Julia Lang’s scrapbook below and read what some fashion experts had to say about what to do and not do during PFW.
Victor Cruz
“Don’t wear uncomfortable shoes. You’re going to be on your feet a lot walking around. Also, don’t wait till the last minute to hit your friends up for your artist passes or credentials or the things you need to finesse through the festival.”
Snoop Dogg
“You got to have a mask, you got to have something that’s going to cover your face because it's going to get dusty. You have dress light because it's going to be hot but at nighttime it's a possibility that it could be cold, so you want to have both outfits. You want to have a night outfit and a day outfit. You want to stay hydrated and have a lot of fruits in your system and vegetables, if you know what I mean. Just vibe, because it's all positivity and all love; everybody is out here just living their life and just enjoying their time for Coachella. It's a great place that brings all kinds of people together so you’ll fit right in no matter who you are or where you’re from.”

What are some rules for Coachella or music festivals in general?
Todd Gurley: “It’s a music festival, there are no rules. You’re supposed to do what you’re not supposed to do that’s why you go to a festival.”
Nigel Sylvester:
Do everything!
Don’t sleep.
Poggy:
Do have your samples arrive on time if you’re having an exhibition like me.
Don’t take Uber at certain times. They’re really bad.
Kidsuper:
Do have a fashion show.
Don’t be unenthusiastic at a fashion show.
Julia Lang:
Do show up to an early morning show as well as late night after parties. Drink lots of coffee.
Don’t dress out of character. Fashion week shouldn't be a dress-up circus. Don’t do too much.
Aleali May:
Do drink lots of water and stay hydrated and have lots of fun with your outfits and throw some color in there.
Don’t wear too many layers because it’s hot in June.
Kerby Jean-Raymond:
Do bring a bottle of water everywhere you go.
Do not wear leather pants.
