Year in Review 2024
and Priorities for 2025
Global events and regional conflicts in 2024 drew attention to the vital role of food systems in ensuring food and nutrition for everyone and supporting livelihoods in low- and middle-income countries. IFPRI’s long-standing commitment to global and country-level policy research allows us to respond rapidly to crises with analysis and policy recommendations and to build evidence and data to address long-term food system challenges.
As the world faces rapid change and many uncertainties, and progress remains slow on many of the food-related 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, it is imperative that high-quality evidence continue to be the foundation of national, regional, and global development efforts. To that end, we look forward to producing our flagship Global Food Policy Report on Policy Research for Evolving Food Systems in 2025. Marking the Institute’s 50th anniversary, the report will bring together a wide range of global and regional stakeholders for forward-looking discussions of key challenges to our food systems and priorities for policy research and action. These activities will also shape IFPRI’s forward-looking strategy building on our newly articulated approach to research.
IFPRI thanks all our partners and donors who helped make 2024 a productive year, and we welcome your continued collaboration in 2025 as we look toward the future. We invite you explore this interactive Year in Review.
