It’s not easy for a 24-year-old company to hit hockey-stick growth; in fact, just 5 percent of the companies on this year’s list are more than two decades old. But that’s just what Philadelphia’s La Colombe (No. 2,527) did. In 2017, its coffee blends and cafes brewed up $70 million in revenue, up from $26 million in 2014. That’s a lot of coffee.

To even crack the top 500, companies had to have a three-year revenue growth rate over 1,000 percent. The GymGuyz (No. 292) did this handily, thanks to its brand of home- and office-based personal fitness training. The Plainview , New York-based company booked $3.2 million in 2017, bringing a workout (with gym equipment) to you.
