Computing's Technology Product Awards recognise the very best of the UK's technology industry: from the most innovative and compelling products and vendors, through to the top projects by end-user firms. Uniquely in technology, these awards give end-users themselves the ability to have their say on the winner. At the end of the day, the entrant taking home the prize will be the one who has most impressed Computing’s audience of skilled IT professionals. The Technology Product Awards recognise the very best in technology talent. Awards range from focusing on security and cloud computing to business software and infrastructure, as well as showcasing the movers and shakers - the innovative technology heroes and projects that deserve industry-wide praise. Ian Golding has been Chief Information Officer, Chief Technical Officer and Data Privacy Officer leading global commercial technology programmes for over 20 years and has a passion for fostering collaboration and innovation to exploit the benefits of technology and data in permanent, interim, fractional and private consulting roles. He is currently Interim CIO at The Natural History Museum, developing the Technology Strategy and Vision to support the its dual role as a centre of excellence in leading scientific research and as a world leading museum. In 2017 As the RNLI’s first CIO (Interim) he created the Institution’s first digital, information and technology strategy including new capability for fundraising, predictive analytics and data-based insights that will help the RNLl to break the chain of events that can tragically lead to drowning. Ian has also been Interim IT Director at Southern Housing Group and prior to Interim roles was Group CIO, Data Privacy Officer and Senior Partner for The ERM Group through its largest growth phase over 4 private equity cycles, to 5,200 staff across 140 offices worldwide. Ian is a Fellow of The Institute of Directors, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the IET and a Chartered Professional Fellow of The BCS. He is also an investor and mentors digital startups. By devoting time to assisting emerging businesses and small investments to advance, Ian’s aim is to help grow the digital ecosystem.
Sameer D’Mello
Founder & MD at Cirrusian Group and former Global Head of Digital Innovation for Commercial Banking Technology, HSBC
Sameer is a global technology leader with 25 years experience in leading strategy and operations at large IT organisations and executing complex transformation in Retail and Commercial Banking globally. Most recently, Sameer led the strategy, build and launch of HSBC’s new UK ‘Cloud first’ digital bank, HSBC Kinetic. He has also driven the streamlining of HSBC’s commercial lending across 40 countries and mobilised IT infrastructure and resource for HSBC UK’s ring-fenced bank and the bank’s Brexit contingencies. Sameer specialises in solving big challenges across different geographies by bringing together diverse teams to manage and innovate with technology. Expert at navigating projects through diverse companies, cultures and regulations, Sameer has held senior leadership roles in the UK, Middle East and India during his career. An evangelist for life-long learning, Sameer has studied Accountancy, Information Management & Systems Development, Management and Professional Cloud Architecture. He has degrees from the University of Bombay and the University of Leicester.
Stuart Sumner
Computing
Editorial director of Computing, V3 and the Inquirer.
During his time at Incisve Media he has overseen the transition of Computing from a print-first publication, to a truly multi-channel media brand encompassing events, website and apps, whilst ensuring it retains the same depth and authority of content on which its reptuation is founded. He is also responsible for Computing's sister titles V3 and the Inquirer. Previously he spent 10 years in the IT industry as a programme manager, where he was responsible for the delivery of corporate WAN rollouts for global blue-chip companies. Stuart has also written for Time Out and IPC Media, and in his spare time writes scripted comedy for TV and radio.
Julie Reali
Daily Motion
As Global Partnerships Director at Dailymotion, Julie oversees the programmatic partnership team in charge of global strategy and the North American market. Under her leadership, the team is in charge of Dailymotion’s video programmatic monetization managing DSP and SSP relationships, developing strategic initiatives and expanding revenue streams. Julie has worked for major companies such as L’Oreal, WarnerBros and Airbus around the world in Beijing, Seoul, Paris and New York City. She holds a Master's degree in Business and Strategy from NEOMA Business School as well as a MBA in Technological Innovation Management from EWHA Womans University in Seoul and wrote a thesis on how big data is disrupting companies’ predictive capabilities.

Computing & Delta
Tom Allen is the Site Editor for Delta, Computing's market intelligence service, and writes for both Computing and The Inquirer. He joined Incisive Media in 2017 from the display industry, trading LCDs and quantum dots for big data and the IoT. As well as tech market analysis, Tom's role consists of interviewing C-level IT leaders, organising events and complaining about improper use of the Oxford comma.

Huseyin is a research-oriented and enterprise-focused academic and manager with both academic and industry experiences in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging & disruptive technologies/systems. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and has been involved with a portfolio of collaborative research, enterprise and teaching/learning projects of over £20M as PI, Co-I and international researcher in collaboration with universities and companies in the UK and abroad. He was one of the founding members of the Institute of Coding and lead its activities at Northumbria University until September 2019. He previously worked as a Reader/Assoc Professor and Director of Enterprise & Engagement for the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Northumbria University and Faculty Head of Research Operations for the Faculty of Technology at De Montfort University.

Rajinder Tumber MBE is not only an award-winning cyber security professional, but he is a survivor of Meningitis, and a world record-breaking poet. For his devotion to the cyber security industry, Rajinder was awarded an MBE in 2020, from Her Majesty the Queen. Rajinder's most recent masterpiece was a well-crafted poem to promote Cyber Security Awareness Month at Sky. His poem, Cyber Aware, was successfully published within the latest edition (Oct 2021) of the world-renowned ISSA Journal.

With a background working across private, public and third sector, Natalie leads Profusion to support our clients to increase sales and optimise operations using data. She has a real passion for supporting our Data Academy to build the next generation of talent, and our Foundation to use data for good. She was named in the Data IQ 100 2020, the top 100 data professionals in the UK. Prior to Profusion, Natalie ran above the line, digital and email marketing campaigns for the Mayor of London to launch a new brand ‘Team London’ and build and engage a database of 1 million Londoners who would volunteer, securing London the title of European Volunteering Capital. She was also part of the team that delivered the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Internet of Things is changing business, with improved insights and customer experience, cost savings and efficiency gains. This award is for a product that excels in all of these areas, even to the extent of enabling new business models – while also staying secure.

Security is one of the fastest-moving areas of IT, and innovation is essential to stay ahead of incoming threats. AI and machine learning can help organisations to free staff up from repetitive tasks, or support their jobs in a new way. This award is for the firm that most impresses with its offering; innovation, functionality, market share and performance are all key to success.

Backing up data is critical in a world where the effects of a security breach can lock or corrupt company-wide systems – and we have all seen the importance of business continuity for ourselves over the last 18 months. As well as providing a great service in itself, the winners of this award should demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and proof that they tailor their service for each customer.

Here we recognise a software provider that best meets the needs of its customers - whether they are SMEs, large enterprises or public sector organisations. Every shortlisted entrant showed great examples of customer care, product innovation and flexibility.

This award is for the cloud vendor who goes above and beyond, demonstrating more than just the expected. It could be outstanding customer service; a breakthrough in product development; or a major strategic shift which has produced genuine results.

The modern world relies on technology to work remotely, and solid networking and communications tools are essential to business. All entrants to this award provide robust and reliable systems that support modern workflows; whether they specialise in secure connections, robust infrastructure or specialised conferencing systems.
Men&Mice
With the continued rise cloud platform adoption, this category highlights the importance of the high levels of integration that firms need for success in the Internet age. Although any SaaS provider could enter, those who made it to the shortlist were best able to show how their work makes a difference to their customers.

There is a major shortage of skilled IT professionals, and in this category we recognise the very cream of the crop. The prize goes to someone showing evidence of innovation; support for colleagues; and who plays a major role in the development and delivery of new initiatives.

Innovation is key to success, and this award recognises the company that has demonstrated high levels of original thought and action in the last 12 months. The organisation may have built innovative IT systems, or approach staffing in a new way. However they have innovated, their work will have resulted in measurable success.

An award for an innovative new product – which might be an application, service, device or technology - that has made a significant contribution to business technology, or to IT in general.

The pandemic forced companies to adopt new working practices and tools, or reconfigure existing ones. This one-time Special Award is for the product that best enabled a company to thrive in the pandemic, whether through enabling remote working; establishing and maintaining a customer connection; bolstering security; or something else entirely.
