CONTEMPORARY:
LAYERS OF DISCERNMENT
Consumers are becoming more and more discerning when it comes to investing in their wardrobes; according to Fashion by Informa’s 2025 US Fashion Consumer Outlook Report, quality and durability are the highest priorities of 35% and 30% of the survey’s participants, respectively. Savvy brands are also noticing this shift, including a brand exhibiting at COTERIE, Autumn Cashmere. “They want quality pieces that feel worth the investment
and that fit into their everyday lives,” says Amanda Wachsmuth, the brand’s senior wholesale sales manager. “Our customers love to feel and see our quality in the stores.
It brings something more personal to the experience and a chance to remove from technology for a minute,” she explains.

In the advanced contemporary market, consumers crave thoughtful designs that are worthy of their investments. “People are looking for garments that carry a narrative, and increasingly, that narrative holds
as much weight as the design itself,” says Serap Taşyanar, founder and creative director of Saint Ones. “Today's consumer seeks meaning, longevity, and emotional resonance. They gravitate toward pieces that express identity rather than simply following the season. We’re witnessing a clear shift: investing in fewer but
higher-quality items, demanding transparency, valuing craftsmanship over mass production, and choosing statement pieces that move effortlessly from day to night,” adds the founder of the international brand.
ADVANCED CONTEMPORARY: CRAFTING UNFORGETTABLE STYLE
Fashion by Informa’s FW26/27 Women’s Advanced Contemporary Buyer’s Guide spotlights the Tough & Tender trend: the marrying of gentle, romantic, delicate fabrics with an edgier aesthetic for a gothic take on night-out dressing. The aesthetic can be seen in the newest Saint Ones collection: “FW26/27 is built around the tension between inner force and quiet rebellion, a season where structure yields, and softness reveals its own power. Silhouettes take on a sculptural precision, while layered textures merge silk with technical blends, creating a dialogue between delicacy and strength. Dark, refined tones are illuminated by restrained metallic accents, and volumes unfold in forms that feel at once protective and deeply sensual,” Taşyanar says.

ENTICING COLOR PALETTES AND IRRESISTABLE DETAILS
According to Fashion by Informa’s FW26/27 Women’s Contemporary Buyer’s Guide,
the Functional Flair and Wild Heritage concepts will capture plenty of attention.
Functional Flair can be described as relaxed loungewear styled with tailored silhouettes for a sophisticated yet sporty effect. Rudoy interprets the trend for the FW26/27
Goldie Tees collection: “Fall introduces sophisticated ruffle accents and versatile new sets that stand confidently on their own—or mix effortlessly with denim, tailoring, or workwear. Flexibility and versatility remain central to our approach,” she says. Functional Flair also makes an appearance in the FW26/27 collection of Stitches + Stripes. Kovler describes it as “a continuation of rich, deep colors and tones that feel grounded and sophisticated.” She goes on to describe “interesting stitches and variations on stripes, combinations that give our signature look a new perspective” and “a soft palette of elevated neutrals that speak to quiet/timeless luxury.”
A ROMANCE OF CONTRASTS
EDIT offers COTERIE attendees a global curation of brands with a refined point of view. The neighborhood is marked by elevated craftsmanship, directional design, and minimalist sensibilities. Sarah Maj, founder and creative director of her namesake brand discusses shifts in consumer behavior sparked by deeper savvy and greater purchase motivations. “Today’s consumers are becoming more intentional and informed. They’re looking beyond trends and asking meaningful questions about how garments are made, where materials come from, and who is behind the brand. We see a strong shift toward limited editions, authenticity, and emotional value, where customers invest in fewer but more meaningful pieces that align with their values,” she explains.
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
APRES SKI:
CAMERA-READY COMFORT
The après ski category is trending, thanks to increasing consumer interest in ski resort sports and social activities. COTERIE created the Après-Ski neighborhood, a curated assortment, to help buyers meet the market’s needs. Picture a winter wonderland featuring all the style-driven, cozy essentials for social gatherings off the slopes. “Social media has certainly put a spotlight on après-ski fashion, which wasn't the case a few years ago,” explains Adriana Seminario, co-founder at Trama. “We believe this type of customer praises quality above everything else, and the experience of shopping for a top-quality knitwear piece that contributes to creating the perfect mountain ambiance is key.”
“Luxe knits and chic outerwear now take center stage as consumers transition from après drinks to dinner and nighttime exploring. Our Kinross collection leans into this dressed-up casual vibe with versatile layers and subtle shimmer that move easily from day to night,” says Mary McCann, president at Dawson Forte LLC., the brand’s parent company. Also new this season is COTERIE's partnership with Normal NYC - Where Vintage Meets Après Ski. Buyers can source a curated edit of sustainable, upcycled vintage from Normal's network of independent vendors - all shoppable through wholesale and D2C at the February event.
A TOUCH OF LUXURY
DENIM:
MARRYING HERITAGE AND INNOVATION
COTERIE’s Denim offering celebrates the art, heritage, and craftsmanship of the timeless category and shines the spotlight on premium, elevated brands. The category known for exciting innovation and directional design is transforming the market with new fabrics and textures for FW26/27. Brandon Williams, creative architect at Hudson, says the market craves dependable fits and clever applications to classic silhouettes. “We are focused on texture and seaming details that bring newness to our staples as well as tonal appeal for the season,” he explains. Mavi hones in on global trends centered on comfort. Marybeth Perrone, the brand’s East Coast sales manager spotlights “climatic comfort driving lighter and thinner fabric constructions.” She also describes new fabric blends with a tactile softness.
EVOLVING WITH AUTHENTICITY
Jackie Amato, director of marketing and communications at Mavi, explains that softness carried through their entire FW26/27 collection via “an increased use of cottonized fabrics, lighter fabric constructions, and the ability to offer greater fit diversity.” For FW26/27, Hudson reinterprets the essence of their brand, “leaning into the rebellious nature” of their roots. “Our 26/27 collections are all about merging that edgy, original DNA with a new level of refined, understated styles,” says Williams.
FOOTWEAR:
GREAT EXPECTATIONS
COTERIE presents a premier Footwear curation of established and emerging brands marrying design, innovation, and craftsmanship across a range of aesthetics. According to Marty Rose, agent and distributor at All Black by ACL Footwear Co., it all ladders to evolving expectations from consumers: “In general terms, consumers are looking for better quality production so their footwear choices will wear better, last longer, and be a better value to justify the higher price point… these expectations are becoming even more important for our customers as they begin to dress up more, yet purchase fewer but better quality accessories.”
Indeed, evolving consumer preferences boil down to higher standards and trust. “In this ever-changing market, consumers are focusing on heritage brands that are tried and true. They want brands they can count on to deliver quality and style year after year,” says Ginnie Bond, president at Donald Pliner. “They will not compromise comfort for style and this is a key part of the Donald Pliner DNA,” she explains.
CLASSICS, RENEWED
According to Fashion by Informa’s FW26/27 Footwear Buyer’s Guide, three footwear trends will capture plenty of attention for FW26/27: Functional Flair (joyful, sporty designs), Still Power (cozy, trans-seasonal styles), and Wild Heritage (rugged, outdoor-inspired styles). Brands exhibiting at the February edition of COTERIE have recognized the allure and longevity of these trends.
MORE CURATIONS TO DISCOVER AT COTERIE
In addition to COTERIE’s core offering , emerging and featured assortments round out the event’s curation in New York. Night Out removes the guesswork for buyers with fabulous curations of glamourous apparel and accessories for cocktail bars, nightclubs, parties, and more; buy from brands including Amanda Uprichard, Hervé Léger, Cami NYC, and Chilia.
María Lohigorry, marketing and communications lead at Lanhtropy also senses a shift: “Consumers are becoming more intentional and they’re prioritizing high-quality, timeless pieces made from noble, natural materials.” She adds that they’re embracing layers and versatility too. At Goldie Tees, founder
and CEO, Debbie Rudoy says shoppers are curating
with intention and focusing on versatility, comfort,
and lasting wear: “At Goldie, we design for this new
mindset—elevated essentials crafted with care, built
for longevity, and rooted in sustainable, small-batch
production for those who believe conscious fashion
should still feel exceptional.”
Jodie Kovler, director of sales at Stitches + Stripes, explains the power of the brand’s price point. “For some customers, we're their high-end splurge
piece that anchors an outfit. For others, we're the accessible option they mix with luxury items,” she says. She goes on to explain that it’s a level of versatility that’s compelling to both consumers and wholesale buyers. “Retailers want brands that can serve multiple customer segments and shopping behaviors. We're positioned to satisfy both ends
of the spectrum, which is increasingly rare and valuable in today's market,” Kovler explains.
The natural colors and yarns of Wild Heritage appear in artisanal, heirloom and heritage techniques and motifs with an undeniable nod to outdoor inspiration. Lohigorry describes how Lanhtropy approaches the aesthetic through elevated fabrics, layers, and new proportions: “We introduce heavier, more luxurious textiles such as wool blends, wool twill, 100% cotton corduroy, velvet, cashmere touches, and structured jackets. These materials bring warmth, depth, and a rich tactile feel that define the season.” She continues, adding “FW26/27 expands into more outerwear and mid-layer pieces—oversized jackets, blazers, vests, quilted styles, and structured coats—reflecting the brand’s evolution toward multi-layer dressing.”
Autumn Cashmere hones in on the trend’s spectacular color palette. “For FW26/27, we’re really leaning into colors and textures that feel comforting and grounded. You will see a lot of brown neutrals, denim blues, earthy greys, jeweled greens, and this new take on khaki that feels fresh for the season,” says Gianna DiCarlo, PR and marketing associate at Autumn Cashmere. “We also added a strong red that gives the collection a standout moment without overwhelming the palette.”

material quality, hand-feel, and craftsmanship to lead the design narrative,” says Karl Matar, manager of HiSO. Matar also emphasizes
the strength of reversible styles (another Still Power look) as powerful investments for longevity, versatility, and multiple styling options.
“FW26/27 marks a return to modern, versatile classics and handcrafted luxury. Chunky cables, rich rib textures, and bold geometric patterns define the season, giving knitwear a fresh yet timeless feel,” says McCann about Kinross’ new collection. “Our collection spans the full spectrum, from the lightest-weight crews to vests, cables, and beyond—each piece designed to layer, mix, and elevate the modern winter wardrobe. Knitwear pushes into outerwear territory this season—double-knit cardigans and architectural knit layers that blur the line between sweater and coat,” she adds.
Seminario is also focused on knitwear for FW26/27. Of the season’s Incan designs and alpine aesthetic she says, “Trama exists in the cultural intersection between France and Peru—in this spirit, our design narrative is anchored in elements that are relatable to both
sides of the world. Rooted in a traveler’s spirit, our designs embrace a sense of freedom, allowing us to propose silhouettes that feel instinctively relatable, whether to the fashion enthusiast, the seasoned traveler, or the devoted knitwear lover.”

Habitual’s collection is the embodiment of Functional Flair. For FW26/27, Jess Palmer, the brand’s VP of design, describes sport-inspired staples with thoughtful details, including polos, rugby stripes, tipping, and yarn-dye poplin—balanced by leather track pants for a refined athletic sensibility. “Denim anchors the collection with relaxed straight-leg silhouettes and dark-rinse washes; head-to-toe denim looks add a modern sense of volume and proportion. Mixing denim with suede adds an easy polish, reinforcing the brand’s focus on versatility and wearability,” Palmer explains.

Fairfax & Favor’s FW26/27 collection includes designs that align perfectly with this trend.
“We capture the essence of modern rural style, creating a unique experience for our customers by crafting timeless, versatile, and luxurious products that let them embrace a modern, rural way of life in effortless style,” says Lisa Thomas, US wholesale director of Fairfax & Favor. “While we introduce new styles with each season, our consumers come back to us time and again to enjoy our footwear, outerwear, and accessories as investment pieces designed with longevity in mind—quality is foremost in everything we do,” she adds.
Wild Heritage will also take center stage at Donald Pliner for FW26/27. “We're evolving
beloved staples, " explains Bond. “Classic silhouettes such as loafers, ankle boots and mules are reimagined with woven uppers, cutouts and comfort soles—and artisanal craftsmanship shines through in luxurious suede and full grain leather finishes.”
Continuing the theme of footwear designed to last; for FW26/27, expect to see updates and design refreshes for tried-and-true, favorite styles at All Black in the aesthetic of Functional Flair. “All Black will follow the key trend relating to styles of footwear that can easily be worn in the daytime and transition to eveningwear. Hardware ornamentation will emphasize the use of buckles in unique treatments and a proper amount of bling,” says Rose.

Beauty offerings present the latest and greatest in makeup, fragrance, and more for retailers building out lifestyle assortments to discerning shoppers. Fulton & Roark is one of the participating beauty brands. “I think one of the biggest changes in fine fragrance is that we’re moving away from heavily gendered scents,"
says the brand’s wholesale manager, Emma Stevenson. “Along with this, a lot of women especially are getting more exploratory. They’re picking fragrances based on their moods and they’re building more of a ‘fragrance closet’
instead of just sticking to one signature scent. It’s really fun to see how people are experimenting and expressing themselves through fragrance,”
she explains.
